The Agony

God’s Explorers is the compelling history of Catholic missionary zeal among the native people of Northern Canada. Set against the North’s vast and rugged frontier, and dramatized by rare archival footage, God’s Explorers illuminates a controversial past that has left both the Catholic Church and the Dene people in agony. This is a story about how the missionary priests – the Oblates of Mary Immaculate – changed the North and how the North changed them.
