KAREN LEE PICKETT
Karen Lee Pickett, playwright, actor, and teacher, has appeared in regional theatre across the US, and has toured in Europe.
In New York, she co-created a number of original works with deep ellum ensemble, and was a writer and actor for Your Name Here for Po’House Productions on 42nd Street. She was a member of Lumina Studio in Maryland, for whom she taught, directed, and wrote plays. In Victoria, Karen teaches at UVic, and has worked with Langham Court, VOS, William Head on Stage, Theatre Inconnu, and Giggling Iguana Productions.
Karen received her theatre training at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, London, and her MFA in writing at UVic. She is an affiliate of Amherst Writers & Artists, and leads AWA workshops for Fernwood Writers Workshops.
In January and February, 2012, she will be playing the lead in Langham Court Theatre’s The Drowsy Chaperone.
