ACTING FOR TEENS  Ages 13–17

This course is designed for students with some dramatic training or whom have never taken a class before but have a keen interest and are able to work collaboratively and with focus. Students will be encouraged and challenged to expand their dramatic abilities through physical, vocal, and theatrical exercises. Each session will offer a different dramatic focus so that students learn and develop a basic working vocabulary and gain confidence in their ability to perform.

Winter session:
In this session, students will focus on learning how to create character. Through improvisation, acting techniques, scene work and development of small monologues, students will discover how to approach a character and find physicality, voice and depth of experience. The monologues will be extracted from plays, movies and novels and possibly their own writings. They will perform their work before an in-studio audience at the end of term.
