AUGUST: ACTING INTENSIVE (The Life of the Play)

For beginning and intermediate students.

This three-day intensive will provide a wonderful and unique context for acting students to develop their skills by delving into the life and world of a particular play. Initially, they will read the play and discuss and explore dramatically the themes and underlying tensions and story line within the text.

Karen will also teach movement, speech and acting techniques to help with the investigation of the play and to coach students in their individual and collective work as actor/performers.

Choosing certain moments from the play to work with and particular characters to explore, participants will be able to develop and deepen some of this material together over the week.

Wednesday Aug. 10 and Friday Aug. 12 from 6:30–9:30pm
plus Saturday Aug. 13 from 10:00am–2:30pm.
