REGISTRATION & POLICIES

PAYMENTS
Payment is due upon registration. Registration is not guaranteed until payment has been received. Payment is by cheque, cash, or money order. We do not take credit cards. (See Registration Details below)

REFUNDS
Refunds will be made for withdrawal up to the second class only. A $25 administration fee is charged on all refunds plus a percentage for each class taken. (More on refunds under Registration Details below)

BEFORE AND AFTER CLASS
Kate Rubin Theatre & Drama Studio and our instructors are not responsible for students before and after class time. A $10 fee is charged for all late pick–ups. Please note early drop–offs are not permitted.

AGE
Students must be registered in the classes that correspond with their age. Sometimes a student may go into an older or younger group if their emotional and physical maturity fits in with that group. This will be at the discretion of the instructor and administrator.

ABSENTEEISM
Please call or email your teacher in advance if your child will be absent from a class. Absenteeism can be very disruptive, so please ensure your child does not miss more than two classes.

LATENESS
Please ensure your child arrives on time for class. We respectfully request that you do not send your child to class if he or she will be more than 15 minutes late.

GUESTS IN CLASS
For the comfort of our students and instructors, parents are not permitted to observe classes, and are asked to wait in the lobby—or
drop off their child and pick them up after the class is over.

SHARING SCHEDULE
Some of our classes will open their doors for the last 20 minutes of the last class of the term for a sharing time with parents (at the discretion of the Teaching Artist). However, each family will receive a note from their Instructor regarding the end of term sharing dates and times.

MINIMUM ENROLLMENT We reserve the right to cancel classes due
to insufficient enrolment. In the event of a cancellation, full refunds will be
provided.

BULLYING AND BEHAVIORAL ISSUES
Kate Rubin Theatre & Drama Studio has ZERO tolerance for bullying of any kind. Such behaviour can result in the automatic cancellation of a registration. If there are some minor behavioural issues, the hope is that the teacher, parent and child will be able to negotiate a win/win agreement so that all can be successful in a class situation. Communication between all parties is essential.

SPECIAL NEEDS
The studio asks that parents apprise us of any special needs such as ADD, ADHT, FAS and Asberber’s Syndrome. Theatre work by its nature is collaborative, therefore it is important for a student to have a certain degree of interpersonal skills. (ie listening, sitting still when asked, no physical or emotional aggression if there is a conflict) We have worked in liason with parents and students with most if not all of the above special needs, and many times it is workable and beneficial for all if those needs are at a manageable level for a regular drama class. The studio reserves the right to cancel a student’s enrolment in a class and recommend other options if the student’s needs demand too much attention and skill set for the teacher to attend to and where the rest of the group’s needs are compromised.


 
 
REGISTRATION DETAILS:

 
To register and for information call 386-8593 or email us. Upon emailing or calling, the students name will be placed in the class list. Class fees are then due with registration and may be paid in full, or with post-dated cheques, up to the last week of class. We are sorry to have to add the HST to class fees now for July 1st but hands are tied. HST is included in all prices. All NSF cheques returned by the bank will be subject to a $20 fee.

Cancellations less than seven days prior to the start of classes will be subject to a $25 non-refundable charge. Refunds will be made for withdrawal up to the second class only. A $25 administration fee is charged on all refunds plus a percentage for each class taken. Cancellations after the second class have commenced will be refunded only when due to illness or injury and will be subject to provision of a doctor’s letter. No refunds will be issued for students who quit for other reasons.

New students joining throughout the year are welcome to drop in for their first class, for which they will be charged. After the first class, a commitment will be required to continue.
