Download 3D Bible Project

This web site is now available for download to your local hard drive, perfect for personal Bible study or Sunday School Classes.

The download process is split into four steps so that you can just download the components that you need.

Step 1. Install Cortona VRML Client - required to view the 3D models

You must download and install Cortona VRML Client in order to view the 3D models, other VRML clients will not work properly. If you have already installed Cortona VRML Client, you may skip this step.

Step 2. Download core component - mandatory

The core component consists of all the 3D models. You must download this ZIP file and extract it into a folder.

Windows XP or Vista instructions:

  1. Right-click the link below, select Save Target As. In the File name box, insert C:\ in front of the file name, i.e. change 3D_Bible_V70.zip to C:\3D_Bible_V70.zip. Click Save.
  2. When the download is completed, click the Open button.
  3. If you have installed a non-Microsoft file compression utility such as WinZIP, proceed to extract the file to C:\. If you have no file compression utility, Windows XP or Vista will open Windows Explorer to display the folder.
  4. Right-click on 3D_Bible_V70.zip, select Extract All....
  5. The Extract Wizard opens. Click Next.
  6. Change the destination folder to C:\.
  7. Click Next to extract the files.
  8. The ZIP file will be extracted to C:\3D_Bible.
  9. Delete the ZIP file.

Step 3. Download one of the language packs - must download at least one

The language pack consists of the study material in a particular language. Download at least one of the following files, and extract it into the same folder as in the above step.

Windows XP or Vista instructions:

  1. Right-click the link below, select Save Target As. In the File name box, insert C:\ in front of the file name, i.e. change 3D_Bible_V70_en.zip to C:\3D_Bible_V70_en.zip. Click Save.
  2. Follow the same procedure in Step 2 to extract the file.
  3. If you are prompted to overwrite some files, always answer yes.
  4. If you want to download more languages, repeat the procedure.

Notes for multi-language support

If you downloaded more than one language pack, you will need to make the following change to enable the multi-language support.

Use Notepad to open the file 3D_Bible\shared\js\menu.js, look for the following lines: 

//languages[languages_size++]="en"; // English
//languages[languages_size++]="tw"; // Traditional Chinese
//languages[languages_size++]="cn"; // Simplified Chinese

Uncomment the languages that you have downloaded. For example, if you downloaded English and Simplified Chinese packs, change the lines to:

languages[languages_size++]="en"; // English
//languages[languages_size++]="tw"; // Traditional Chinese
languages[languages_size++]="cn"; // Simplified Chinese

Step 4. Download online Bible - optional

This step is optional. If you intend to present or study the material where an Internet connection is not available, such as in a Sunday school class, you should download the online Bible. You may download more than one version. You must extract the file into the same folder as in the previous steps.

Windows XP or Vista instructions:

  1. Right-click the link below, select Save Target As. In the File name box, insert C:\ in front of the file name, i.e. change 3D_Bible_V63_KJV.zip to C:\3D_Bible_V63_KJV.zip. Click Save.
  2. Follow the same procedure in Step 2 to extract the file.
  3. If you are prompted to overwrite some files, always answer yes.
  4. If you want to download more online Bible, repeat the procedure.

Starting the Home Page

Open the folder C:\3D_Bible from Windows Explorer, double-click default.htm to start the Home Page.
