Lately we've had a few people comment that they were surprised that it didn't cost them a lot to get a key cut, they were under the impression that Locksmiths charged a lot for everything. We do supply some keys that are expensive, however, most keys are not. Also your key is most likely to work when we cut it for you, saving you a trip back to have it re-cut.

Make sure the locksmith you use is properly licensed, bonded, insured and trade certified. All B.C. licensed locksmiths have picture ID from the Attorney General's office. Trade Certification is not mandatory at this time, both of Sunvalley's locksmiths have completed the testing .

Moving into a new place?? Change the locks !!! How many people were given keys previously to you moving in?? If you don't know, re-keying your locks is cheap insurance against someone entering easily with a key. 

You can't get a good lockset or dead bolt for $10.00!!!!!!!! You get what you pay for. Think about the value of what you are protecting, if it's only worth $ 10.00, then that $ 5.00 lock is probably all you need. Most times the shoes at your front door are worth more than that!!

If your key doesn't work well, and you get a copy made, you most likely just have a "new" bad key. If you tell us you are having a problem with the key, we may be able to tell you whether or not the key is bad or if it may be a problem with the lock. If the key is bad, you might just need a key "cut by code" (we cut a key that is exactly like the factory original). If it is not the key, we may need to do some repairs or re-key your lock.
