Top Cat Before:
A scarred and dirty "Top Cat"
fresh from the territorial turf of East Vancouver.
|
 |
Top Cat After:
A rehabilitated feline in a loving home.

Carson:
This tomcat has character, and a great character at that.
He shows interest in people and things, and is glad to be
off the streets. He loves attention and is even cuter in person.

Chase:
Living in a crawlspace under a house, all we could see was
a pair of big yellow eyes staring back. After we trapped this
little one, she quickly tamed up in our foster home. She especially
enjoyed chasing objects and pieces of string around the room.
After initial squirming and struggling, she learned that being
picked up and petted was actually enjoyable. Today she is
very pampered in a home where the doctor makes house
calls! |

Gwinney:
We received a call to help a lady whose house had become overcrowded
with felines. Out of the bunch, emerged a real sweetheart
-- Gwinney. She was affectionate and loved attention. We delivered
her to MeowAid,
where this beauty was adopted very quickly. |

Jo-Jo:
This was one of the Southland shipyard kittens, who were very
difficult to tame. Jo-Jo was the last to be domesticated,
taking several months to come around. She is now
a friendly, good-natured cat. This cat

Keats:
This beautiful Siamese and his sister (Shelley)
were left as orphans when their elderly owner passed away.
The executors of the estate asked us to trap these two indoor
cats because they would not come out from hiding in the house.
After we trapped them, they settled down after a few weeks
and were adopted into a new home.

Midnight:
This charismatic cat had an entourage of admirers at the shelter
both human and feline. Midnight was a "peace-maker"
and gentle soul, who appreciated his time at Meow-Aid after
living on the streets. |

Missy: What
can we say about Missy? She was rescued from a life of illness
on the streets trying to tend a litter of newborns
while still a kitten herself. Some street cats immediately
conform to living with people and other cats and Missy was
one of these. Generally, adaptable cats like Missy have had
some experience with people already perhaps as former
pets and quickly learn to integrate back into a comfortable,
domestic situation. This cat was featured
