Mitzi

Mitzi: Smart, pretty, and athletic (she likes playing soccer with ball toys). Likes attention and something to stimulate her senses. Loves playing in the great outdoors. This cat was featured in one of our newsletters. Read it!
Momma

Momma: Docile, even-tempered, & pretty but not entirely used to human interaction yet. She's fine with other cats and not aggressive at all — she'd make an excellent companion cat. Accustomed to some outdoor access for frolicking in the breeze. This cat was featured in one of our newsletters. Read it!

Moose Moose: This cat was featured in one of our newsletters. Read it!
Patrick Patrick: This cat was featured in one of our newsletters. Read it!
Peter

Peter: This thoughtful cat lived 19 years. After his owner died, we found him living in a forest. After we trapped him, he lived comfortably in a private residence for two years. Although Peter was content, we know he missed his previous owner very much. This cat was featured in one of our newsletters. Read it!

Eulogy for Peter

Life is Light

To the Light, which is Life,
To the Air, which is the Breath,
To the Rain, which is the Blood,
I give my substance back.

And to the Earth, the Body, the Flesh,
My Life Returns . . .

Seagull

Eulogy for Seagull

My little friend, Seagull, has “wings” now.

He was out late at night, and was struck down by a car.
I carried his body home in my arms, and lay him down in my parlour.
He had a bump on his head, and his expression was very peaceful.

The other cats were in the room and sat very still.
Abercrombie, tried to wake him up.
They always played together…

I buried Seagull in the backyard, where he liked to run and hide in the long grass.

I will miss my little friend — he was a good companion.

A friendly greeting when I came home.
Following me around, jumping on my feet,
Chirping at me like a bird,
Sleeping on my lap while I’m at the computer,
Purring on my chest at night, helping me to sleep....

The house is emptier now, and my heart feels very heavy.

I hope my good thoughts travel to him — wherever he is.

“Be strong and of good courage, Seagull.”

Shelley Shelley: This beautiful Siamese and her brother (Keats) were left as orphans when their elderly owner passed away. The executors of the estate asked us to trap these two indoor cats because they would not come out from hiding in the house. After we trapped them, they settled down after a few weeks and were adopted into a new home.
Sunggles Snuggles: Crying in the darkness in a back alley in Burnaby, we rescued him under a full moon. He cried in the car, at the vet, and at the shelter (but only the first night). Despite our advertising, no one came forward to claim this abandoned cat. He liked to be held, so we renamed him "Snuggles", and Meow-Aid soon adopted him into a caring home.
Tabitha Tabitha: A nice, relaxed kitty who likes hanging out with people and just watching the day go by. Very sweet.
Victoria Victoria: Very affectionate once she trusts you and you stop spooking her (doesn't take too long). Quite a darling who can purr up a storm. Needs a good, caring home where she won't have to worry about ending up on the streets again.
