Metchosin Community House is available for rent

The Community House has a fully equipped Food Safe Kitchen with a commercial dishwasher. Extra tables and chairs are available for large gatherings.

• Special Event Licensing 

  If alcohol is to be consumed parties must have this licence in place and a copy given to the House prior to the event.

  A Special Occasion Licence (SOL) permits you to serve, sell and consume alcohol at your special event, celebration or community festival.

  Licences are regulated by the Liquor Control & Licensing Branch, Ministry of Housing & Social Development, and issued by the Liquor Distribution Branch. When you apply for a SOL, you agree to be responsible for the safety and sobriety of your guests. A complete copy of the laws that govern this licence can be found at:

  Special Occasion Licences may be applied for at any BC Liquor Store. For more information about the Special Occasion Licence, download the brochure below. Information about the Special Occasion Licence is also available on the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch website.

A great venue

The Community House is a very suitable venue for a variety of functions and activities such as community meetings, workshops or private functions. The House can be rented for daytime, evenings, and weekends on a first come first served basis. Metchosin Community Association members get first priority. The House features:

• A large, open meeting room is furnished with couches, chairs and tables. Furnishings can be reconfigured according to individual requirements. This area is open to the fully equipped kitchen.
• A separate, small meeting room with desks, 2 computers and a printer provides community access to the Internet.
• Great lighting for Workshops, art shows, slide shows or seminars. A television, VHS tape, and DVD player are also available.

Rental Fees and MCA Memberships are very modest

The Metchosin Community Association is a non-profit organization relying mainly on membership fees, fundraising activities and house rental. All proceeds go to operating expenses for the Community House.
