This section contains indexes created from data collected in the 1825, 1831 and 1842 census enumerations of the Gore Township area. Although these censuses listed only the names of family heads, they are still useful in confirming the presence of a family at a given point in time. Religious affiliation (1831 and 1842), nativity (1842), and number of years in the province (1842) can provide valuable tools for furthering research. Additional data about the age ranges, sex and marital status of other family members was recorded, therefore it is advisable to consult the appropriate microfilm(s) for further information.

Background: The schedule form used to record the data is handwritten in French and the entries are very faint and difficult to read. The enumeration appears to have been conducted prior to 18 October 1825. To facilitate transcription of the material, paper copies were made from the film using the "dark" and "zoom" settings on the reader-printer.
Index: Items included here are the name of the head of household and the total number of persons in each family. In the case of words or portions of words that were illegible, a "best guess" was inserted. These are indicated by the use of square brackets [ ] and question marks. Spellings are given as in the original.
