Doug writes, "The Parkers (my ancestors) and Kerrs (my wife's ancestors) came from Ireland to the Gore in the early 1800's. About 1860 they migrated to the Eastern Townships of Quebec where better farmland was available. My web site documents the descendants of the original Parkers and Kerrs from the Gore."

Bob Smith's great-great grandparents were Gore settlers Robert SMITH and his wife Jane WILSON. Their son, Robert SMITH Jr. (born 1827 in the Gore) married Janet CAMERON in Lachute and it is through this line that Bob traces his descent. Bob is in the early stages of his research and would welcome contact with others working on the Gore SMITH family or anyone with information relevant to them.
