Made it home....

So we finally made it home after getting delayed leaving Ho Chi Minh. We were under the imprecision that we would be staying the night in Hong Kong. All thought it felt like the night it was a 7 hour lay over which went by pretty fast as the airport was big enough to get lost in. It also doesn't help when one is looking for Dairy Queen that is in Bangkok. After the realization we opted for Burger King. Not the best option but Travis needed off the rice diet he has been on for the last month.

The flight home went well as the kids both slept the entire way less 2 hours. Travis and Chris went to the back of the plane to sleep while i was silly enough to stay with floppy. When we got to Vancouver the air line was ready for us. They had our hotel voucher ready to go if we were not able to get on the last fight back to Edmonton, which we did. Ursula and Jeff were gracious enough to pick us up at 1:30 in the morning. When we got home we were unable to get in the house as Dawn was staying at her house and we were unable to wake anyone up to get the key. Jeff and I drove back to the Marvin house to pick up our house key and soon it was 3:00. Ursula and Jeff left and the fun just began.

Kailey had picked up some uninvited friends in her hair so into the shower she went. I'm thankful for having the all important shampoo in the house from a previous scare. So the next 3hours consisted of me combing out Kailey's hair plus shaving both Travis' hair and Chris'. Travis was not so thrilled as his football helmet was not going to fit now. Around 6:00 I am now making everyone have a nap. Which lasted only 1 1/2 hours for Travis and Kailey. A little longer for Chris and I if the kids would have let us sleep but they were both excited to see there friends.

So life as we know it is back. I am doing Landry and Chris is on the computer.
Until our next adventure.

Update

It has been a bit since we had an update as Kevin and Lori's power supply for their laptop saw the worse end of one of the many power surges in Vietnam.  On the weekend we went to Halong Bay and spent the night on the ocean in a Junk.  The scenery and food were both amasing!

On Monday the four of us went to a water park in Ho Chi Minh city.  We had a blast going on the slides and in the wave pool.  We have also been spending most of our time wandering around the district one area.  I think we have managed to find almost every market possible.

We only have one more day left before we are on the long journey back to Canada.  We arrive back in Canada on Friday evening at 8:10 pm.

Angkor Hot!

Today we went to Angkor Wat which was amasing. The heat and humidity was almost too much to bear though. As you can imagine there were acouple of pictures taken. Once we get back to Kevin and Lori's we will upload a few of them. Tomorrow we are going back to the ruins of Angkor before we catch our flight back to Vietnam.

Siem Reap is a nice city to wander around in. We spent a few hours doing just that yesterday. The market is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. For some reason almost everything costs one dollar.

War Museum

Yesterday we spent the afternoon in the war museum.  The museum had some US tanks, planes and helicopters on display.  They also had many pictures of events that happened during the Vietnam war.  It was very interesting as you got a look into how the Veitnamese looked at the war.  Today we are off to Siem Reap in Cambodia to see the ruins of Angkor.

Pictures

I have uploaded about 50 pictures to picasa.  Use the "pictures" link on the right hand side to view them.

We spent the day in HCMC wandering around the downtown area with Kevin and Lori.  Travis was happy as he finally was able to get the movies he was looking for.  Kailey and Gabby found some shoes and I picked up some shirts.  The market area was definately neat.  Today we are going to head to the war museum and do some more wandering in the city.

Vietnam

We have arrived in  Vietnam and are happily settled at Kevin and Lori's place.  I will fill in the rest of the Phuket gaps tomorrow when I have more time.
