We’d like to introduce you to Home Energy Solutions – Canada’s newest distributor of solar electric equipment.  HES Home Energy has taken over the “Home Power” division of Carmanah Technologies effective January 1, 2008.  Explains Carmanah in a January 2, 2008 press release:

 

“Carmanah’s strategic direction no longer includes the home power market...declaring the company’s plan to narrow its focus… We are pleased to see this arrangement in place… and for Dave (Egles) to remain involved in a market in which he has played a large role over the past 20 years, and its an easy transition for Home Power customers. ”

 

HES Home Energy is taking over where Carmanah left off, offering a large inventory of solar panels, inverter and wind products, technical and marketing support to dedicated solar resellers and installers.

 

But while the company name is new, the staff are all seasoned PV professionals.   The President, Dave Egles started promoting renewable energy in 1988, and founded Soltek Solar Energy.  He’s been a solar user for the past 20 years, and has owned the first new metered house in BC (see photo on this page).  Dave is also the current President of the Canadian Solar Industries Association, CanSIA.  Dave’s mission has always been “to put as much solar to work in Canada as possible”, and has worked tirelessly to effect change within government towards renewable. 

 

Vice President and in charge of Operations is Ed Knaggs, former head of Engineering at Soltek.  Ed is one of the strongest technical people in the industry and a gifted solar educator.  Ed’s rugby playing and coaching background will be an asset in leading the team to deliver your energy solutions.

 

 In Barrie, many of you have enjoyed working with Nick Harper, Paul Catling and Jason Forsythe in the past.  Nick, Paul and Jason are dedicated to the industry and to helping your success.
