TEACHER'S ASSISTANT DUTIES:
- Possess a Valid First Aid Certification.
- Knowledge of the Ukrainian language is an asset, but is not required.
- Unlock Sadochok facility by 9:00 AM.
- Set up & organize toys in the gym.
- Set up centres according to curriculum planning.
- Set out Sign in/out Binder and children's files on entrance table by 9:15 am.
- Circulate and participate in the program as much as you can. If you converse in Ukrainian, please do so as much as possible, and encourage children to speak Ukrainian as well.
- Classroom assistance with discipline, crafts, colouring and photocopying.
- Supervise appropriate free-time activities.
- Accompany children to washroom and provide assistance if necessary.
- Set out daily snacks as provided by parents.
- Set out the birthday cake, candles, and hat if celebrating.
- Accompany children with washing of hands prior to snack.
- Assist teacher with the decorating of the bulletin boards with monthly themes & children's work.
- Report directly to the teacher of Sadochok.
- Assist in the preparation of and participate in 2 concerts.
- Assume the role of the teacher in the teacher's absence.
- At the end of class, return all toys and activities to the storage room.
- Take sign in/out binder and files back into Sadochok classroom and lock up.
- Other duties as required.
