Jubilee Productions understands that in order to follow God's radical call to the Jubilee, we must first liberate our storytelling to hear obscure characters tell their truth. In the plays and music that we write, we uphold the forgotten perspective in the hope that light shed must spark new hope in the audience. Passion of Mary and Voices Rising are old and common stories told from the perspective of women.
In Passion of Mary we see the women preparing the meal eaten at the last supper, and hear their reflections about the arrest, trial, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus.
In Voices Rising, a young Mary speaks boldly about her pregnancy, her abandonment by Joseph, their reconciliation, and the birth of Jesus into a dangerous and chaotic world.
In future productions, we hope to continue this tradition of upholding the stories of characters often forgotten and perspectives often lost in order to liberate our stories of faith to bring renewed hope to modern audiences.
