Connections

James Grant and Marjory McPhail of Nairn, Inverness-shire Scotland had a large family.  Three of their children emigrated to Canada.  

Alexander R. Grant (b. 1803) and Mary Fraser (b. 1802, m. 1826) came to Glengarry Co, Ontario in 1832 and settled near Dunvegan.

Donald (b. 1807) married Jane McIntosh in 1829, came to Canada  in 1836, and settled in Roxborough Twp, Ont.  Donald later married Alica McKillican and Mary McLeod.

Isabel (b. 1810) married Donald McIntosh, came to Canada in 1860 and settled near Rivington, PQ.

The descendants of Alexander and Mary held a Grant/Fraser family reunion on July 26/27, 2008 near Dunvegan where they originally settled.
