Cowden House Bed & Breakfast

Cowden House is set in the beautiful
Cerne Valley on the edge of Godmanstone, a tiny unspoilt village. All around
are views of rolling downland hills and open skies. From the house you can
follow footpaths and bridlepaths for miles, away from roads and traffic.
Godmanstone is five miles from Dorchester, the county town and nearest train
station. Cerne Abbas, a beautiful village with three pubs, shops and the
famouse Giant is four miles away. The nearest coast is twelve miles
away.

There are 3 acres of field and gardens
and spacious accomodation for up to six guests in double or twin bedded
rooms. All have lovely views of the countryside and guests are welcome to use
the sitting room with TV, a "quiet" room for reading and meditation, and the
garden. Single visitors are welcome and small groups or family get-togethers
happily catered for.
Catering is vegetarian, using as much
local organic produce as possible. Vegans and others with particular dietary
requirements are welcome. Godmanstone is blessed with an organic dairy farm,
an organic vegetable grower and an organic farm shop. Breakfast is plentiful
with a wide range of cereals, fruit, yoghurt, breads, toast and a full cooked
meal all available. Tea, coffee, herbal and fruit teas and biscuits are
provided in the bedrooms. Evening meals are usually available.

Dorset is a wonderfully varied county.
there are dozens of picturesque villages and many beautiful gardens and
historic houses open to the public. the spectacular coastline stretches from
Christchurch to Lume Regis, with much of it protected as a World Heritage
Site. The west of the county is very rural with no large towns. To the east
Poole and Bournemouth offer great possibilities for shopping, night life and
miles of clean sandy beaches. Whether travelling by car, bike or public
transport, there is so much to see and do.
The emphasis of the house is peace and
quiet. A space where you can unwind, pause, reflect, renew and be cared for.
Sessions with local therapists can be arranged. Personal attention is
paramount. Advice and suggestions are freely available based on local
knowledge and from someone who has lived in and loved Dorset for many
years.
