Henry Johnson was born about 1787. I do not know whether or not he was born in Gaspe. He married Jane Ellement and they lived in Malbaie. Henry can be found in the 1825 and 1831 Censuses. In the 1825 census, Henry Johnston was living in Malbaie, and there were 6 people living in his house. The 1831 census stated that Henry Johnson, lived in Malbae, did not own the land he occupied; he was a Fisherman; he belonged to the Church of England and was free and common. There were 8 people in his house. Henry died in 1847 in Belle Anse.

Henry and Jane had 7 children that I have found information on. They were Thomas, Oliver, Edward, Sarah, John, Philip and James.

Thomas married Azove (surname??), and they had 2 sons.

Oliver married Margaret Harriet Stanley, and they had 4 sons and 4 daughters.

Edward married Mary Charlotte Stanley, and they had 2 children

Sarah married Thomas Doody, and they had 2 sons and 2 daughters.

John married Elizabeth Ann Hotton, and they had no children

Philip married Mary Hotton, and they had 6 sons and 2 daughters.

James married Catherine Plouard, and they had 6 sons and 3 daughters.
