Treat your students to the sights and sounds of folk instruments and songs
from around the world.
In
his
musical presentation for young audiences Felix Possak talks
about the origin of each instrument, the nature of its construction; and then he
demonstrates some of the typical playing styles.
There is lots of audience participation
and students are encouraged to join in and sing.
The concert concludes with a
question period.

Many instruments have been added since this picture was taken.
Schools may now choose from the following:
Accordion
Alpine Bells
Autoharp
Balalaika
Banjo (4 and/or 5-string)
Bouzouki
Dulcimer (Appalachian)
Guitar (various)
Harmonica
Celtic Harp
Hurdy-Gurdy
Mandolin
Ukulele
Any five of the above instruments may be used in the
one-hour show.
Requests for the inclusion
of a particular one should be made at the time of booking.
Length of presentation: 55 minutes
Most suitable age range: K-6
Maximum audience size: 400
No technical requirements, except for electrical power and 1 chair.
The performance can be held on the floor, or from a stage.
