b. 1818 in County Sligo, Ireland; d. 13 Apr 1869 in Anderdon Township, Essex County, Canada West. m. circa 1849 in Essex County, Canada West to Jemima BRUSH (b. 1829 in Upper Canada; d. 21 May 1868 in Essex County, Canada West), daughter of John BRUSH and Elizabeth WRIGHT. John was a farmer on Lot 5, Concession 3 of Anderdon Township, the house being a duplicate of the family home in County Sligo. At the time of his death, he had acquired 350 acres of land. John and Jemima are buried together in Rose Hill Cemetery, Amhurstburg, Ontario, Canada. After their deaths, their children were sent to live with family and friends in the area.
