b. 21 Oct 1850 in Anderdon Township, Essex County, Ontario, Canada; d. 5 Mar 1933 in Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada. m. 27 Jun 1878 in Essex County, Ontario, Canada to Alice HELFRICH (b. 29 Jul 1859 in Colchester South Township, Essex County, Ontario, Canada; d. 1955 at the Lever Nursing Home, Windsor, Ontario, Canada), daugher of William HELFRICH and Jean LOCKERBIE. After his parents died, Stephen went to live with the family of his uncle William PETTYPIECE in Concession 7 of Anderdon Township. He farmed in Anderdon Township until about 1885, when he and his family moved into the town of Amherstburg. Stephen worked for the Detroit-Windsor Ferry Company for more than 40 years and was, in later years, in charge of the Amherstburg dock. Stephen and Alice are buried together in Rose Hill Cemetery, Amherstburg.
