b. 1902 in Amherstburg, Ontario, Canada; d. 12 Feb 1944 at Roi Island, Marshall Group, South Pacific. Moved to Birmingham, Michigan in around 1935. When the United States became involved in the Second World War, William elisted in the Seabees, 121st Construction Battalion and reached the rank of Carpenter's Mate (3rd Class). He was killed in action. His body was interred in Rose Hill Cemetery, Amherstburg, in Jun 1948.
