rebekah in her office

Rebekah Demirel is a classically trained, registered acupuncturist. She received her Diploma of Acupuncture from Oshio College of Acupuncture and Herbology in Victoria B.C.

Rebekah's background includes more than a decade as an ambulance paramedic, an adult educator for 23 years with St John Ambulance teaching paramedic courses, and is also a registered professional counsellor working with those who suffer from stress and addictions. Rebekah is a passionate public speaker who is engaging and informative when she relates anecdotes of her decades of experience in the health field and the social changes she strives to enact.

Years ago, when her job as a paramedic began affecting her health Rebekah experienced such a powerful healing effect from acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine that she changed to a career in Oriental medicine and since then, her life has never been better. In gratitude and service, Rebekah now dedicates herself to helping others feel good, look good and to build a Good Life. Rebekah's experiences as a childhood survivor of the streets and foster care system, and as a long time advocate of women's health and empowerment inform her perspective and make her a powerful and empathetic healer.

As part of her lifestyle of health cultivation Rebekah practices daily morning qigong eight brocades and marrow cleansing as well as other techniques taught by Taoist priest, Ken Cohen and the renowned Dr. Steven Aung. Rebekah is a student of martial arts, studying Shorin-Ryu Shorinkan Karate with two time world champion, Sensei Ken Marchtaler at OMAC (Okinawa Martial Arts Club) dojo in Victoria, she is also a Reiki practitioner, trained in the Usui style. Her martial arts training continues with Martial Arts Hall of Fame recipient and 7th level Dan, Shihan Joni Sharrah, in the Shito-Ryu style, at USA Karate in Shoreline Washington.
