UPDATES / DETAILS / ETC.

Join us on Friday evening for Wine and Cheese – etc.!  See attached!

Ride Day:  September 4th: Sunrise – 6:18 (dawn light – 5:45); Sunset: 7:35 (twilight 8:08) – 13 hours and 17 minutes of daylight!  Ride camp is about 3800’

…….Long range forecast lookin’ good!

Adult Sponsor for Junior Rider:  Are any of you doing the ‘Fun Ride” – would you consider sponsoring a 16 year old, and her 17 year old friend

– capable, riding students of Fiona Griffiths?

Farrier Information:  Godfried & Shane Kriberneff – 250-497-6355; Cell: 250-462-0685

HWY #3:  For those who are not familiar with this road, there is a climb: more gradual from Rock Creek; shorter, steeper from Osoyoos – will be a bit of a grunt with loaded rigs…..

Cool Evenings:  Even if the days are hot, the temp. drops pretty quickly around 6:30 ish – bring some warm clothes for you and your horse!

Remember:  The turn-off to the Ride Site in the Regal Ridge Development on HWY #3 is the WAPITI life-size bronze statue, Wapiti Road.  Wapiti = elk!  (We’ll have signs!)

Farrier:  He will be on site on Ride day; he will also be available/on call on Sat. afternoon – all private treaty.

Cell phone:  I think rather than ‘walk to talk’ you will need to drive (about 5 minutes):  from the Ride Site, turn right on HWY #3, left on Eagle (right across from Sasquatch!), go to the end of the cul-de-sac……

Photography:

·         There will be a photographer on the trail, and the photos will be made available a few days after the ride, at no cost to you.  Thank you, Simone!

·         AND you will have another wonderful opportunity – see attached!  Thank you, Kerri-Jo!

Cell Phones/Internet:

·         Minimal, or non-existent, depending on your provider – am going to check this weekend to see exactly how far you have to walk to talk!

·         Internet available at: The Regal Ridge Café – 5 minutes drive.

Dinner Sunday Night After the Ride:

·         If your ‘ride entry’ will be ‘delayed’, please let us know if you plan to join us for dinner!

·  Should have mentioned that, unfortunately, there will be NO concession available at this event; we just couldn’t ‘guarantee’ enough business to make it worthwhile for them.   Osoyoos is very nearby, should you need to ‘restock’ at some point.  Unless you ‘order’ a dinner for the Sunday evening, you’re on your own!  Please let me know soonest, if you haven’t already done so!  You will not be able to purchase dinner at the Ride; we need to let the caterers know beforehand.  Thank you!

·   CORY’S QUEST!  The remaining 5 draws will take place just before the Awards’ presentation on Sunday evening!

·   International Boot Camp will be on FRIDAY – NOT Thursday as originally scheduled; please contact Gail if you plan to attend:jewell1@telus.net

·   If you plan on coming to the Awards’ Dinner on Sunday evening, and have not filled out a Ride entry form or are included on someone else’s entry form, please contact me; we need to know how many to expect, hopefully by tomorrow.  The cost is $15.00 and this is a catered ‘event’!  daphnedr@shaw.ca

·   Still looking for a couple of experienced P/R people – please let me know if you’re interested!
