All too often, choosing a lawyer is a painful process. Stressful circumstances, such as involvement in a motor vehicle accident, criminal charge or legal dispute, can cause people to hire legal representation without careful consideration. Your lawyer is not the biggest ad in the phone book--he or she is a highly trained professional who will provide you with expert opinions and advice based on years of education and experience. This is a big responsibility; one that all of us at RMcD Law Offices, lawyers and support staff alike, take very seriously.

Just as one chooses a certain doctor or dentist, or takes the vehicle to a specific garage for regular maintenance, we believe everyone should have knowledgeable and trusted legal counsel to whom they can turn. RMcD Law Offices is committed to that idea and pleased to assist clients when buying and selling property, incorporating new business ventures, conducting estate planning and much, much more. In the unhappy event that stressful circumstances do arise, our clients are better prepared to meet them with the support and resources of an experienced and service-oriented law firm behind them.

To better determine whether we may be of assistance, we invite new clients to interview us at no charge! Arrange your free half-hour initial consultation during business hours (Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.; Fridays 9:00a.m. to 1:00p.m.) Although our “boutique” hours may not be convenient for everyone, we’re happy to accommodate meeting times that suit your schedule.  Contact us with your questions, comments or concerns 24/7 by voice mail (403-328-9125), fax (403-328-9143), email, even find us on Facebook: RMcD Law Offices

    R. (Ron) McDONALD, Q.C. received his law degree from the University of Saskatchewan, having attended evening classes while working days as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Mr. McDonald and his family moved to Lethbridge upon his graduation so that he could complete his Articles at the firm of Maxwell Larson. Mr. McDonald was called to the Alberta Bar in 1984 and began work as a sole practitioner shortly thereafter.    Mr. McDonald’s current professional affiliations and memberships include: the Law Society of Alberta, the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers’ Association, the Christian Legal Fellowship and the Lethbridge/Fort Macleod Bar Association through which he participates in the real estate sub-committee. Mr. McDonald has attended two sessions of the International Academy of Apologetics, Evangelism & Human Rights at Trinity College & Seminary in Strasbourg and three Christian Legal Intervention Academies here in Canada. Mr. McDonald’s preferred areas of practice are Labour and Health Law (including contract negotiations, wrongful dismissal and severance package review), Residential and Commercial Real Estate Conveyancing, Corporate and Commercial Matters and Litigation. He has represented clients at all three Alberta Courts (Provincial, Queen’s Bench and the Court of Appeal) and has extensive experience with numerous administrative panels such as WCB and Alberta Human Rights. In addition to his regular case load, Mr. McDonald accepts referrals from Legal Representation for Children and Youth and is involved as a Mediator with the Alberta Provincial Court. He continues to pursue further training and certification in this field as he very much enjoys the alternative dispute resolution process.
What do the postnominals Q.C. mean? In Alberta, the Lieutenant Governor in Council appoints Queen’s Counsel recipients. Traditionally, the appointments are made every second year. The honorary title recognizes outstanding expertise, work and contributions in a lawyer’s public life. Mr. McDonald has held this distinction since 2009.

WILLIAM F. MALCOLM received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Lethbridge prior to becoming a fellow alumnus of the University of Saskatchewan.
