Fuel Pump Element Reconditioning
Fuel Pump elements can be used and thrown away. Or, if you want to save a lot of money, they can be repaired. It all depends on how rich you are. Average savings equate to around 50%. We understand there are no savings and even some risk if reconditioned parts do not meet the same original quality as the original OEM parts. We also understand some reluctance to try reconditioning fuel pump elements. Early attempts to repair fuel pump elements were not very successful. Now though, new methods have been developed that are very successful. By remanufacturing the pump elements, our partners are able to bring them back to original condition. They are also able to modify the clearances to suit your needs.
Every repaired pump element receives brand new plunger. These are carefully fitted to newly honed bores. As you would expect, very careful examination of used barrels is carried out before any repairs are even considered. If the bores and all other areas of the barrel are in good condition, then remanufacturing can begin. Scrap rates for used barrels average around 35%. This means about 65% are repairable. All elements are tested to make sure they meet your specifications before they leave the factory.
As well as reconditioning fuel pump elements, full rebuilds of fuel pumps, injectors and other fuel system related parts is possible.
