Re: Summer Fund Raising Events

Can you believe it… after 12 years of hard work our “little darlings”
will be graduating in 12 months!!!

Parents and students from next years graduating class have been talking and lots of great suggestions and ideas have been generated. We would like to keep the enthusiasm up and going throughout the year.

Fund raising ideas for the summer that have been mentioned are bottle drives, dunk tanks, hamburger sales and aqua days activities. Two events have already been organized for this summer. The grade 11 class will be cleaning up after the Safe Grad Party, held at Exhibition Park Sunday June 28th @ 9:00am. Also we will be volunteering our time to work Bingo for the Cold Lake Kinettes (date TBA) All wishing to participate must contact Brenda Blythe @ 780-639-3983 or email jjblythe@xplornet.com. Thanks to those who have already called and offered their time. If you have any ideas or would like to take on organizing an event please let me know.

The thought is that if some of the work can be done during the summer it will lessen the load next year when things get “crazy busy” for everyone.

I would like to compile a list of contact information of all grads and their parents including email and phone numbers. If you could please email this information to Brenda we will make sure you are informed of grad details and invited to participate in all fundraising events. If you choose not to pass along this information you will miss out on a wonderful experience.

Over the summer I hope that all the grads think about some ideas, themes, decorations etc. After all this is your grad and you do have input.

In the fall, a grad meeting for students and parents will be held to set up committees in conjunction with the student’s desires to help the kids get the ball rolling on their graduation.
