HILLTOP
STUDIO
Living
in the country on acreage allows for a large garden, one that I spend
many hours maintaining and enjoying. Some of my flower painting ideas
have come from my garden. A short walking distance takes me into the
west coast forest or onto the shores of the Pacific Ocean. Our area
has an assortment of wildlife and birds. There are a lot of domestic
farm animals near by, therefore, I don't have to go far to get inspired
for a new painting.
I have no formal art training but have taken private art classes, group
art classes and workshops. I joined a group of local painters that meet
during the summer months to plein air paint in the local parks.
My choice subjects to paint are the things I enjoy and love the most,
flowers, animals and birds. Oils are my medium of choice because of
the buttery consistency oils offer and the rich color they produce .
My passion is painting and sharing with others. My desire is to achieve
visual communication between myself and the viewer and my goal is to
continue to grow as an artist. For me, art is a never-ending journey.
