Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.
Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)

Character Education has been discussed for a many years. Its recent revival has come about because teachers, parents and community members have found that society as a whole and education in particular is experiencing a sense of loss and frustration because of bullying and the lack of the teaching of virtues, values and morals within schools.

The purpose of this site was to gather as many on-line resources as possible for students, teachers, parents and the community-at-large to access.

There are five sections to this site.

Character Education Sites: On this page you will find many sites that describe Character Education. It is divided into six sections - Children, Teachers, Parents, School Districts, Projects, Articles and Research.

Bullying Sites: On this page you will find sites that deal with bullying and help for people who have been bullied or suggestions for people who feel they are a bully.

Cooperative Learning: This site has a list of sites to help teachers work with students in cooperative ways or how to build a team spirit within their class.

Global Sites: On this page there are many sites that students, teachers or parents can visit to assist in looking at the global community in a caring way.

Character Education Paper: On this page there is a paper written by Sue Konopnicki as an exit paper for her M.Ed. There is a discussion on bullying, the history of character education, what has been done in the past and where it is now headed.

Character Education Booklist - The Bonner Center for Character Education is compiling an annotated bibliography of professional books with character education themes.
