The AFCA Job Site Preparation Manual is designed to protect AFCA installers and merchants from losses due to the negligence of other trades, job site managers who are negligent in preparing floor covering installation sites and uninformed consumers.

·        On Site WHMIS Training

 

Since introducing the on-Site WHMIS training program in September 2006, over 100 industry workers have received industry oriented WHMIS training and certification through the AFCA.

 

WHMIS training is a legal requirement which encompasses many flooring industry workers including installers, sales representatives, administrative personnel and warehouse workers.

 

Here are 4 good reasons to have all your workers WMHIS Certified.

 

1) Alberta’s OH & S Act, section 398 (1) requires that all employers shall provide a  WHMIS program for workers who work with or near a controlled product.

 

2) Prime contractors are now requiring that all workers entering a worksite shall be WHMIS certified.

 

3) AFCA members have the convenience of providing workers with WHMIS training at the location and time of their choice.

 

4) An employer who does not offer WHMIS training to its employees can be fined or jailed.
