NOT A MEMBER OF THE AFCA?
TAKE ANOTHER LOOK!
The Alberta Floor Covering Association is an industry association formed in 1979 – comprised of retailers, manufacturers, distributors, installers, and associates of the floor covering industry. Over 40 volunteers offer their time and talent to handle the programs and issues with which the AFCA is involved. These individuals, their companies, and all the AFCA members, support the efforts of their industry association.
AFCA objectives are:
-
To represent the interest of the members on issues pertaining to the construction industry.
-
To encourage the proper use of the correct floor covering and installation techniques by both the construction industry and the public.
-
To promote and maintain good business relations between members, specification writers, government and the general public.
-
To co-operate with the Alberta Construction Association and other industry associations on construction matters of local, provincial and national concern.
-
To promote, through seminars and training, high standards in work performance and management skills.
-
To encourage fair and ethical business practices in the floor covering industry.
-
To assist in the training and education of Association members to meet the future needs of the industry.
-
To keep members informed of activities and developments within the industry and Association.
Locally, the AFCA offers a provincial benefits package which includes advertising, access to our website, employee lifestyle benefits, informative meetings pertaining to current issues in our industry; jobsite preparation standards manual, provides technical support and sales and installation training programs; issues a quarterly newsletter; and organizes social events for the members. In addition the association offers members and consumers an inspection program that has the approval of Alberta New Home Warranty and National Home Warranty Programs Ltd. Recently the AFCA has been working with the Alberta Provincial Apprenticeship Committee for the Floorcovering Installer Trade to facilitate improvements to apprenticeship training, and has taken an active role in bringing forward the concerns of the flooring industry regarding concrete finishing specifications.
AFCA members are also entitled to member benefits of the National Floor Covering Association. These benefits include access to the NFCA specifications manual; reduced rates for Mastercard and Visa; fuel and maintenance discounts through Esso; employee benefit programs (including life, short and long term disability, prescription drugs, dental and vision care – for any sized company ); and reduced rates with Canpar.
Our members have a vision for their industry and are willing to seek solutions to problems in a collective way. They see the problems of today being eliminated for tomorrow. They are willing to invest in their industry for the future.
Please give serious consideration to becoming a part of your industry association . We need your support, and you need ours !!!
