Mobile Power Units are powered by a completely seperate alternator that does not tie into the trucks electrical system and will produce a full 5000 watts. The nearest competitor uses a truck alternator (160 amps). Although their inverter is capable of handling 5000 watts the 160 amp truck alternator is only capable of putting out 2500 watts.
