Mehndi also known as Henna are is a process of temporary tattoos. It is originated from a plant called lawsonia. It is only grown in tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, Southern Asia, and Northern Australasia in semi-arid zones.
The Henna plant is dried and turned into a powder form which is then mixed with ingredients like tea, coffee, cloves or tamarind to form a paste. The paste is then applied to any part of the body and is 100% natural and safe.
Traditionally for brides, the Henna is applied to the front and back of the hands and feet with a cone. The paste can be left on for as little as half an hour and still leave a reddish dye on the skin. However, the longer the Henna is left on, the darker it gets. Henna can last anywhere between a week to three weeks long depending on which part of the body the Henna is applied.
Henna is not only used for weddings, it can also be used for any occasion, such as birthday parties, pregnancies, or just because.
It is our belief that if you’re at our page, you’ve got a fairly good understanding of what Henna and Mehndi are. Feel free to contact us for further information.
