AN EXCITING CONTACT WITH FAMILY FROM DENMARK
In April 2003 I was able to get in touch with Leif Wammen, the grandson of the man who wrote the book, Soren Olesen Fra Mors. This was the book an excerpt was translated from that I used in the life history of Soren Olsen. This book was written in 1924 and included a bit on the ancestors of this Soren Olesen who is a grandson of our Soren Olsen ( called Rammelhoj by his Danish family). I include a picture of the cover of the original book (written in Danish) sent to me by Leif. He indicated that the translation done in Price in the 1930's was about 90% correct.
Over several months he translated the whole book which has 118 pages. The review was done and it was made ready to publish. Leif was able to obtain permission from the original publishers in Denmark and I was able to get it printed for the 2004 reunion. How exciting.
A special thanks to Leif and also to Lester who included my history of Soren Olsen and my email address on his web site. My history of Soren included a plea for someone to help find the book, Soren Olesen Fra Mors. Because of that being included Leif saw it and replied to my plea.

| May 2004 | Book Soren Olesen Fra Mors is completed and reading for printing |
| July 2004 | Soren- Bertha- Margrethe family reunion is held in Cardston Alberta, book provided. Chris and Karen Fleng came from Denmark to the reunion. |
| late 2004 | Leif Wammen passes away in Denmark. |
I will be eternally grateful to Leif for his work and interest in translating this book Soren Olesen Fra Mors and also for getting me in contact with Chris Fleng who continues to transcribe his grandfather's genalogy research onto the internet. Our most sincere condolences to Jonna and all of Leif's family, he will be greatly missed.

I received a CD from Leif containing several pictures of Soren Olesen fra mors and a TIFF file for every one of the 118 pages of the book written in Danish. How exciting.
