Soren/Margrethe/Bertha Olsen reunion

We have been working together as an e-committee(a made up word meaning an on line committee that will do most of the planning over the internet and by email). We held a great meeting at cousin Steve Olsen's home in Sandy and it it their Stake House that we will be using. A special thank you for their help and organization.

Les Olsen will do a reunion web site that will advertise and do online registration. Our family is like the internet in that we know no borders.

Please make sure you tell your family members and committ them to come to the reunion. Send this letter about the reunion to your families

CHANGES TO THIS SITE ON January 8, 2006

this is part of my new years resolution to keep this up better.

Recently I have received emails from relatives and others who have seen my web site, asked questions and sought to have some contact. I am continually amazed at the miracle of this web site. Here are some things that have happened from my creating this web site:

some of my cousins were able to access my online copies of life histories for their web sites.
pictures and stories have become more readily accessible for others.
I was able to make contact with family in Denmark and find the excerpt of the Soren Olesen story which led to the finding of the book Soren Olesen Fra Mors.
the book "Soren Olesen Fra Mors" was translated by our cousin Leif Wammen and the book published for the 2004 reunion. (If anyone one would like a copy of this , send me $10 to cover postage and handling and the cost of the printing and I will send you a copy. My address is Thaine Olsen Box 1001 Magrath, Alberta, Canada T0K1J0) {A sad note to the above information is that Leif Wammen passed away in Denmark last year. How grateful I am to him for his great labour in translating this book into English.}
through Leif I was able to make contact with his first cousin Chris Fleng, who with his wife Karen came to our 2004 reunion in Cardston Alberta.
Chris has published a web site of the genealogical research that his grandfather did. There were several handwritten books that are now being put on line.
At our 2004 reunion we had representatives from 3 of Soren and Magrethe (Danish family) , Ole Kristian Sorensen, Yorgen Sorensen, and Christian Sorensen
The work of salvation has been done for several family members and a greater connection with our departed family has been established.
