As i look out the window of this jail in downtown portland, i can see the sunrise gracing Wiyeast, the Willamette swirling its way to the columbia, and bicyclists crusin' past cars...It feels so good to be home!!
I've missed U all dearly and thank U for the amazing support throughout the last 4 years. One phase of this journey has ended and another is beginning. I am ready for the adventures ahead. I couldn't ask 4 a better legal and support crew!
No matter how the media or the fbi attempt to portray me, there are many who truly know what i stand for, where my heart lies and what my commitment is to this life. I am, and always have been, dedicated to helping this world thru peaceful means to transform this planet into a cleaner, healthier, happier and more free place 4 every being (humyn and non-humyn).
Planets are still hard to come by!! Think before U eat, think before U drive, think before U go to work...is this really the healthiest thing for me, my family, the planet? Is there another way? Is there a better way? We all can be part of the solution. Are U ready?
Thank U all very much for coming out today!
i greatly appreciate your support!

The sun bursts through the clouds...the mountains sing with radiance throughout the afternoon. The sun sets, painting a portrait in its wake along the western treeline. Darkness unfolds with Orion dazzling high in the southern sky. The Big Dipper tilts on its end in the northeast. Two of the seven stars point the way to the North Star...
I think of the North Star as the guide for the underground railroad. I think about institutionalised slavery as a part of the "free market" in the US while Barack runs for president. In Kenya there are hundreds and hundreds of people dying protesting the recent corrupt elections. How many in the US died protesting Bush's stolen election(s)? Like Anita Roddick said, "they must be putting something in the cereal!" Bush audaciously comments on "free and fair" elections in Cuba. Prior to Bush proposing to force democracy (what an oxymoron... yes what a moron he is) upon several other countries around the world, perhaps he should look up the word "democracy" in the dictionary, and "hypocrite" while he's at it.
Here are just a few samples of some current issues:
- February 11th : Fellow activist Briana began her trial in Washington. Her case and mine have many parallels. Briana, I wish you love, support, and solidarity!! For more info on her case and how you can help, please visit: http://supportbriana.org.
- February 15th : The ten year anniversary of V-Day. Helping to end violence towards our sisters of all ages. "V-Day's 2008 Spotlight Campaign focuses on The Women of New Orleans and the Gulf South. These women - Katrina Warriors - have come to symbolize the universal plight of women in conflict zones" check out V-Day's Spotlight for more.
- February 18th : To my friends who eat dead animals...Please take a look at this report. This is just a small fraction of the rampant abuse our animal friends face every day...We are what we eat!
- Februrary 20th : Total lunar eclipse. I was able to view some of the eclipse on Wednesday. I found it to be a very powerful night. This was the third total lunar eclipse in the last year. The next one isn't until December 2010.
- Februrary 25th : Please help me honor my grandma Betty for birthing my mother Melody on this date many moons ago. It's from this side of my family that I inherited my adventurous, wanderlusting nature and my passion for music... Thank you grandma... I love you momma!
I thank you all for your continued support and interest in my case. Many things are in motion and I predict I will be free soon.

I wish everyone a blessed holiday season and sacred solstice. A tiny limb of spruce needles was given to me this week. Periodically, I pick it up and hold it to my nose. I am instantly filled with the sweet, pungent fragrance of the sacred tree, and simultaneously flooded with countless memories of the magic surrounding this time of year. While growing up in Florida, the wonder of this season was always accompanied by the beautiful scent of a spruce or fir tree that blessed our home. As years pass by, cut trees were replaced by potted ones; fruits and veggies were eaten instead of dead animals; and hand made gifts were shared in lieu of store bought sweatshop items. Despite the depth of darkness and the widespread consumerism and oppression throughout our culture, there remains a Devine light. Throughout all Iżve been through and all the changes that have occurred, when I smell the spruce needles Iżm transported to my innocent days of youth. Part of me longs to reclaim those days before there was knowledge of the darker side of humanity. Nevertheless, I have faith that the light, which we all carry, may come to manifest a world where all beings are happy and free. As far as my legal matters go, things continue to progress and I will keep you posted on any and all developments. I send my deepest gratitude to all of you for your continued love and support. I wish you all the best, have a wonderful mid-winter night.

Hello to everyone. Yes, it's been a while since I've written! Thank you for your continued patience and support.
Two seasons have come since my appeal hearing and on Friday Oct 19 the court of appeal issued their decision regarding my extradition to the U.S. All three judges denied all the arguments my lawyer Jim made on my behalf. If you would like to read the reasons for the decision, follow this link.
I am planning to appeal this decision to the Supreme Court of Canada. As things develop I will keep you informed. At this point, I have no extradition lawyer. Jim Blazina has withdrawn his services. I am therefore seeking a competent and experienced lawyer who is well versed in extradition and international law. If you know anyone who may be able to help with my case please contact tre@riseup.net, or phone (250) 721-5997.
There are a few key details regarding my case that I feel are extremely important for everyone to know if they don't already. These are:
- This case against me is 100% politically motivated by the US government.
- Despite the fact that Jake and Jeremy and Angie received 41 month sentences, I am facing life imprisonment for the very same crimes to which the three of them pled guilty.
- The Canadian Ministry of Immigration has denied me the right and opportunity to have my refugee claim be heard.
Leaves are turning their fall colours, and making their way quietly to the ground. The soft sounds of the raindrops keep the rhythm of the night and coincide with the beating of my heart. I am reminded that I am alive and I have a mission to carry out. Throughout all the struggles I have endured, my passion for protecting this planet and all life forms remains a central theme in my life. Yet this theme is also a concern that affects us all. Our way to peace, health, happiness, respect and equality on all levels, in all ways, toward all beings - is a return to the land, back to our earth mother. Listening to our hearts and souls echoed through the voices of the trees, the sunset, the river's course, the eagle's cry, we find ourselves. May we all have the strength to pursue our true calling and true purpose with all our might. I thank you again for your continued love and support it, keeps me alive and well.
Blessings.

Hello to One and All Tre Arrow Supporters,
Yesterday's Extradition Appeal Hearing went well!
The tides (slowly but surely) seem to be turning, as Tre was appropriately
referred to by his legal name, *Tre Arrow* the entire day, without issue.
Tre's attorney Jim Blazina opened with strong, firm, factual arguments to further the case of Tre's survival of political persecution by the US Government. He stated that prior to 9/11/01, there were approx. 16 people on a "possible terrorist" list in the US. Post 9/11, there are approx. 80,000 on that list.
The voluminous documents and obtuse language used and referenced (as Tre's case is complicated) were at times head-spinning, but the overall outcome was that the panel (3 Judges) reserved judgment until a future date. They heard both sides, but clearly were most interested in hearing more from Tre's attorney. Blazina told me afterward that they most likely will take a month to decide anything, if not longer.
Blazina made several relevant case citations to evidence his arguments throughout the day. Blazina immediately claimed there has been an "abuse of process" with regard to Tre, and that the reliability of "any actual evidence" against Tre is non-existent...that it was concocted and three co-conspirators signed cooperation agreements. Blazina more or less stated that Tre became a target after becoming a public figure--a successful environmentalist receiving a significant degree of notoriety in the public eye, was framed by the US.
Other arguments sought to challenge the constitutionality and breech of fundamental justice with regard to Tre's Refugee Claim. Part one of his claim was initially passed, and then was not further processed due to the Extradition proceedings... Blazina urged that Tre is entitled to a full oral hearing to determine the credibility (for the refugee claim) of the allegations in the indictment.
Procedural fairness was breached, as Tre is in need of protection from the US Government, Blazina urged.
More to follow... for now, Tre thanks each of you for the ongoing love energy and support. He feels it.
Namaste,
Shawna Scarpitti

Tre's Extradition Hearing:
My extradition appeal hearing is taking place at the BC Court of Appeal, 800 Smythe St, April 18th at 10 am, in downtown Vancouver. The hearing is scheduled for the hours between 10 AM and 12 noon, and will reconvene at 2 PM, and possibly go until 4 PM if needed. I won't be in the room, but I may be present on live video.
The appeal panel (3 judges) may give an oral judgment on the spot once the arguments have been presented. Since this is a complicated case, they are more likely to reserve judgment. If so, we have no way of knowing when they will give the decision. It may take 2 weeks, 6 months, or possibly even longer. My lawyer Jim will get a notice (most likely) 2 days before they issue their judgement. Reasons for judgment are then posted on a government website. If their decision is favorable, then we are basically back to square one with regard to my extradition! I will then be given another committal hearing to have my case heard once again. Even if their decision is not favorable, we still have further avenues of appeal, so I am not going anywhere anytime soon.
There are several arguments which constitute this appeal. One major argument is based on the Supreme Court of Canada decision regarding Ferris. This decision reconsiders the sufficiency of evidence upon which the Supreme Court of BC bases their decision on whether or not to extradite.
I am very pleased with Jim's effort regarding this appeal. I am also pleased to say that my sister Shawna and many other beautiful supporters within BC will be present at the hearing...I thank you all!
Namaste,
Tre

I pray for peace, freedom, joy, respect and abundant love to permeate through every thread in this web of life to which I am a part. Thank you grandmothers and grandfathers, sacred creator and all the angels!
I very recently spoke to Maher Arar on the telephone. This is a monumental and powerful connection that we have made!!! At this point I have everything I need for the bail proposal barring BC surity/ies. Once we have manifested this final critical element in the bail proposal, I will then be going for bail. I am fully open to the possibility of this happening any day! Thank you for helping to make this a reality!!!
I send you all abundant love and gratitude for your continued support!!!!! I'm sending you all abundant cherry blossom and black mission fig energy!!!!!!!

Hello to everyone out there, it's Trey here and I'm doing well!
Music continues to feed my soul. The power of music and the connection to the mental, emotional and spiritual realms continues to astound me! I've been blessed with many beautiful people coming to visit and more to come (my sister Shawna and Doogles are visiting in a week and a half!!!) The winter seems to be giving way here in Victoria to the coming spring. I love spring! I love to see all the leaves coming back on the hardwoods and the buds and the flowers that promise the sacred fruit for summer and fall!
Right now I'm reading "Awakening Spirits", by Tom Brown Jr.
Tom shares his profound experiences with earth mother and the connections with stalking wolf,
grandfather. Every time I read his books it brings me closer and closer to earth mother
and my ancestral roots. I highly recommend everyone to read any and all of his books
(please acquire used or from a library). The trees will thank you.
Many things are going on here in Victoria regarding my bail and community support. I'm happy to announce that the benefit on Thursday Feb. 1 was a tremendous success, once again!!! We raised over $300. We had many outstanding musicians perform, we had a fun raffle, and everyone seemed to have a glorious time! I was able to call in and speak to the whole crowd via speakerphone, which was extremely rewarding for all of us. Thank you to all who helped organize and make this event as special as it was!
January 21st, 2007
I give great thanks to all who contributed to the fabulous gathering on Dec.8th. Another benefit is planned for Thursday February 1st (at the Solstice Café in Victoria). The huge snow fall we received offered a brilliant white wonderland for sometime. The rain has offered purifying and cleansing gifts to the earth. I've seen many deer at night not far from the window. The music I am able to listen to does much to lift my spirits and bring me joy. I was able to connect with my family over the holydays and be with them in spirit. I thank you all for your continued love, support and energy. Please keep it coming!
I send you all abundant fig love and energy!!!!!!!!
November 7th, 2006
Hello to everyone out there. I wish you a blessed all souls day! (November first)
I had the pleasure of 'carving a pumpkin' today. About two moons ago I received a sunburst squash from a kind sister named Esther. The squash is big enough to fit in both of my hands, golden yellow, shaped like a UFO with a small green flower-like mark on one end. I broke it open with my hands, pulled out all the seeds, made an offering and munched on it with a yummy Italian 'dressing' concoction I came up with!!! It was very yummy!!!!! I have continued to have the pleasure of practicing the guitar and listening to some sacred music.
My time outside has been filled with views of stars and grandmother moon at night, and mountains and blessed grandfather sun during the day. I've been mesmerized by the early morning dew and the beads of night rain which the blades of grass capture so eloquently! The god and the goddess are clearly present here at Wilkie!!!!!!!
My father recently celebrated his 59th sun on the planet. On that day (October 27) I tried to phone my fraternal grandmother to honor her for birthing my father. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to reach her but had a very comical conversation with the man who answered the phone at the nursing home where my grandmother lives. When I was a young boy, my father taught me how to play the Italian game Othello. It has remained one of my favorite games. I asked the guy's on the unit I live to save me their round ice cream lids. Chaplin Ed and I cut out 64 disks from the ice cream lids. Now I have an Othello game to share with the other guys here. I was excited to find out a few guys on my unit know how to play Othello.
LEGAL UPDATE
I have great news regarding my upcoming bail hearing. I am most likely going for bail in mid December. I am currently talking with more potential sureties. We still need more families to commit. Even if you cannot help with being one of the sureties, please keep me in your prayers that we manifest the necessary elements to ensure my freedom.
Keep in mind, when I am released for the extradition matters in the court of appeal, I will then have to go before the immigration board to be free from the detention hold which will be reactivated once the court of appeal grants my release. Once I am given bail from the court of appeal I will have the immigration bail hearing within 2 days. Immigration may want an additional form of bail (cash or surety) and I am confident we can manifest anything they would require for my release.
My appeal hearing has been set for April 18,2007. I will keep everyone posted on any and all developments. I send you all blessed fig and sunburst squash energy !!!!!!!

Hello to all you beautiful folk! I wish you all a blessed autumnal equinox, and sacred new moon!!! (both falling on this day...this is a powerful time for manifesting and transitioning!!!!!!!) This is the time of remembering. This is the time of awakening into our divine potential! The time of learning through suffering is over!!! We deserve to live a life filled with joy, harmony, peace, respect, honour, truth, and love!!!!!!! The time is now!!!!!
I am trey. I am a humyn, I am a brother, I am a father, I am a son. I am many things and I am nothing. I have learnt many things in my life but I only know one thing...that I am love and that love is all that exists...anything else is fear!!!!!!!
I have decided to spell my name with a 'y' after being guided by Laara and the insight she shares regarding the ancient truth of the kabalarian philosophy (Laara's currently writing a book about this subject). By adding the 'y' this activates my fullest potential to manifest my true destiny. I know my true destiny is to be free! I know my true destiny is to help others realize their freedom!!! I know my true destiny is to help with the healing of sacred earth mother and all her inhabitants!!!!! I know it is my true destiny to help with this healing and freedom through the power of music!!!!!!!
HERE IS SOME WONDERFUL NEWS REGARDING MY UPCOMING BAIL HEARING!!!
Currently we have two families who have committed to being part of the
million dollar surety. My parents are one of these two (thank you mumma
and dad!!!) We are manifesting this!!!!!!! If you'd like to help with
any of the details or know someone who may be interested in
helping...please send an email to:
conor@riseup.net
(the surety can be a Canadian or U.S. resident)
As soon as the bail hearing has been set I will let you folk know. It
most likely will be in October or November of this year.
I just received excellent news from my lawyers that they received the funding necessary to go forward with the appeal. This means that legal services, which funds court appointed attorneys, feels that there are sufficient grounds to win the appeal (otherwise they don't fund the appeals.) Regardless of whether or not I actually win the appeal, this marks a monumental step forward towards my ultimate external freedom!!!!!!! As soon as we have an appeal hearing date set, I will let you all know. This will most likely not be before spring of 2007!
Here is some fabulous news about Renee:
Reefer refugee Renee Boje is finally free. In 1998 fearing persecution
over medical marijuana charges, Boje fled from the US to Canada on the
advice of her lawyer. Boje faced a 10 year mandatory minimum to life
sentence in a US Federal Prison for her minor involvement in a well known
medical marijuana and research garden owned by cancer patient and
marijuana activist Todd McCormick and best selling author and Aids
patient Peter McWilliams.
In 2001 Boje Married Canadian marijuana activist and author Chris Bennett and in 2002 she gave birth to their Canadian son, Shiva Sun Bennett. Many had hoped that Boje's marriage to a Canadian and the birth of her Canadian son would be enough for her to be allowed to stay in Canada and avoid the ten year sentencing she was facing in the US. But sadly through the decision of the same Justice Minister who allowed US authorities to raid Emery Seeds, this was not to be the case.
As some may recall Boje lost her fight against US extradition when the Liberal Justice Minister Irwin Cotler decided against her in 2005. Boje and her family were devastated by the decision because they were told by her lawyers that the Ministers appeal was her best chance for winning her freedom in Canada and that there was a 99% chance she would lose her appeal in the higher courts with the current Conservative government in power. Boje appealed Cotler's decision and in that intervening period she received an offer from the US for a plea bargain and negotiations then were initiated between Boje's Canadian lawyer John Conroy and Federal US Prosecutors in LA. On August 10th Boje traveled to Los Angeles for an August 14th court date in which she pled guilty to possession of ½ of a gram of marijuana. Judge George H. King who was the judge throughout the McCormick and McWilliams hearings sentenced Boje to one years probation, giving her permission to reside in Canada with her family. Boje returned to Canada on August 15th and Canadian officials almost denied her entry into Canada, but relented and let her stay for one week while a decision about her status was in the works at Immigration Canada. In the end after a week of worrying she might be deported Canadian Immigration officials granted Boje a 6 month visitors permit, which will likely give her time to secure Canadian citizenship so she can remain in Canada permanently with her family.
For further information refer to Boje's website at: reneeboje.com Contact Renee Boje at rboje@hotmail.com
FIGS!!!!!!!
This is the time of year for fabulous, fun, fig gathering straight from
the tree! Figs are my number one favourite food and a staple in this
living, vegan, essene diet I follow. Because figs are quite
literally a part of my spiritual path, the administration allows me to
receive figs throughout the week! If you or anyone you know are coming to
Victoria and can share some sacred figs with me, please send an email to:
conor@riseup.net
...thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Kind brother keyaho, and sister's Mar and KT gathered and brought figs from Oregon not too long ago!!! Others around Vancouver and Victoria have gathered and blessed me with these sacred, medicinal, healing fruits!!!!! Thank you to all who have helped with this! If you have not blessed yourself, your children, perfect strangers on the street, etc...with fresh figs (preferably freshly picked from the tree...if not from a local market or natural foods store) please do so asap! Figs are mentioned more in the bible than any other fruit. For more info on figs, fig leaves, and fig trees, please do a google search on 'fig fruit' and/or 'fig tree', and visit this website: crfg.org
I send everyone blessed fig, mulberry, and pear energy and love!!!!!!!

Hello to everyone out there, the full moon took place Wednesday morning (august 9th at 3am- west-coast of turtle island time). This next moon faze promises to be an incredibly powerful time for all beings on this precious planet!
Today (august 10th) is Prisoner Justice day in Canada. This day honours all those who have struggled and died while incarcerated in Canada so that we may be afforded the rights and privileges every humyn (sic) is entitled to, whether they are incarcerated or not! During this day myself and many other inmates are fasting and refusing to work as an act of solidarity and commemoration towards those who have lost their lives.
I was part of a live radio interview yesterday (august 9) with a kind brother, Matt, in Guelph Ontario. I have done several live interviews with him, which he has recorded. To listen to our interview or any other previous ones (or any of the other fabulous interviews that he has posted) please visit: resistanceisfertile.ca and go to the 'political prisoners' section.
I am elated to announce that David Johnson was released from this prison yesterday afternoon (aug 9th) !!! This was his 36th day without food!!!!! Thanks to the help, support and prayers from the community, his mom and folks like you he is now free from these walls!!!!!!! For more info on David and other crucial social issues please visit loveandfearlessness.com
LEGAL UPDATE:
Things are progressing in a positive direction for my upcoming bail
hearing. No date has been set as of yet; however, we are working on
compiling all of the necessary elements for the bail proposal. For more
details on how you can help with this bail proposal, please visit
the bail section. Thank you very much.
About three weeks ago, the supreme court of Canada issued a monumental decision regarding extradition. This decision directly impacts extradition from Canada to the US. This pertains to the evidence that is relied upon during the committal hearing of extradition cases. This has lain strong grounds for my appeal and a potential victory in the BC court of appeal!!! If you would like to research more on this decision please go to the supreme court of Canada website, click on 'recently released judgments' and look for 'USA vs Ferras and Latty'.
Recommended read : "the way of the peaceful warrior" by Dan Millman (please acquire used, not new! thank you) This book is phenomenal!!!!!!! I encourage everyone to read it.
I love you all! I thank you dearly for your continued interest and support. I wish you abundant love and light

To all the precious beings out there, I'm doing well. I'm immensely grateful for the love and support of which I am surrounded every day and every night. On this unit a kind brother named David is here engaging in a hunger strike. Today marks day 19 for him without food. Over the last two and a half years he has been repeatedly arrested and incarcerated for peacefully demonstrating in Victoria. He is dedicated to calling attention to homelessness and seeks a practical solution to poverty here and abroad. He is currently serving a 210 day sentence for 'breach of condition'. This 'condition' is a restriction to set foot on St. Anne's Academy grounds (even though this is a public space). It is illegal for anyone to sleep in a public space in Victoria (and many other cities). To this unconstitutional and prejudice law David stands in opposition and has repeatedly returned (despite orders not to) to St. Anne's Academy to sleep and also to set up a tent city with others who are dedicated to this cause. David is commited to hunger striking for the duration of his sentence!!! Please send him love, energy, strength, and nourishment so that he may prevail in this legal struggle and achieve freedom before the hunger strike takes a drastic toll on his health. Phone calls of support for David can be channeled to:
Wally Oppal
250 387 1866
and/or the Lieutenant Governor of B.C.
Iona Campagnolo
250 387 2080
I will keep you posted on his situation.
On the last new moon I was blessed with a visit from Bruce Ellison. Bruce is a kind brother from South Dakota who has worked on indigenous and Native rights in the federal courtroom for three decades. He will be assisting me and the current lawyers working on my legal defense. To this I am eternally grateful.
Recently I recieved a letter in the mail from Denise Savoie, the local and federal MP (Member of Parliment) for the Canadian Government. She wrote a letter on my behalf to the minister of justice expressing concern and support for my situation and case. This also marks a monumental event because to my knowledge this is the first Canadian or U.S. politician who has publicly supported me and written a letter to the minister regarding my case.
LEGAL UPDATE:
I have wonderful news regarding bail!!! I am currently working on a bail proposal for the appeal court. Here are some of the details:
- Now that I am in the appeal stage of my case I no longer will be going before judge Dohm and the Supreme Court of B.C. We will take the bail proposal before a judge in the B.C. Court of Appeal.
- Bail has not been set, therefore we are putting together a phenomenal proposal which they will not be able to deny.
- I am currently asking families (or individuals) to be part of the million dollar bail proposal. At least ten families, individuals, couples, etc. willing to sign one hundred thousand dollars in the form of cash or equity towards a home or property to be my surity (this money does not need to be put up front, simply available to show the government that the funds can be accessed if need be.)
- The bail hearing could potentially be in September or October
- In addition to this (at least) million dollar bail proposal, I will agree to any condition they see fit in order to convince the government that I'm not going to flee.
- Contributing persons may reside in Canada or the US.
- Are you or someone you know willing to be one of these surity persons??? If so, please send an email to tre@riseup.net... Thank you very much!!
Please spread this far and wide and we will manifest and are manifesting this!!!
My friend's Steph and Lu who I know from Vancouver helped put this CBC
radio piece together. Feel free to listen to, and spread far and wide.
The piece aired on Monday June 5, 2006 and is titled 'My Friend the Fugitive'

Hello to you all it's Tre here,
June 7th, 2006
This last moon phase has been quite transitional and intense (not just for me but for many beings). I have much information to share with you:
LEGAL UPDATE
The notice of the judicial review of the ministers decision to surrender me for extradition has been filed by Tim (this is the long and legal terminology for appealing the ministers decision). I am happy to announce that Tim will continue to represent me, and I have an additional lawyer, Jim Blazina, who will be working on much of the appeal submissions. Jim is a well experienced appeal lawyer. For now there is no appeal hearing date set. It most likely will not be before October or November of this year. I will keep you posted as to any of the legal developments and what you can do to help. (For now the best thing that you can do to help is to visit trearrow.org and click on the volunteer section and decide which 'spoke' you would like to devote your energy and blessings to.)
My father's name is Jim as well, and so I already feel a special connection to this blessed addition to my already fabulous legal team! Jim's wife, Norene, passed on to another plane in January of this year. He is still moving through the grief from the loss of his beloved. I ask all of you to keep him in your prayers, I ask that the spirit of Norene is incorporated in your prayers, and finally I ask that prayers of healing and love are bestowed upon every living thing on this precious planet and beyond...thank you very much!
PERSONAL UPDATE:
I am now classified as P.C. (this stands for protective custody). For the last 29 moons I've been classified as G.P. (General Population). This doesn't mean that I am on a unit where there are no problems or that I am now secluded from hostility from other innmates, it's just simply a different setting and a different phase in this time of incarceration. I am on a unit called "mike" (how ironic, eh?) I have to say, based on my experiences and the various settings I have been exposed to while incarcerated, this is truly one of the best situations I have been in. Perhaps I am in the protected custody of the great divine and our sacred earth mother!!
The reason that I was moved to this unit and reclassified to P.C. is because I've had many problems trying to fit in to the G.P. lifestyle. I have been a target by many people because of the life that I follow. I eat raw plant food and not dead animals (eating dead animals is seen as something matcho). My long hair and lifestyle has resulted in me being labelled as a 'hippie'. I am dedicated to a life of not comprimising my values, morals, and passions. I am resolute in living a life of peace, love, generosity and kindness towards everyone and everything (regardless of whether one is incarcerated or not, and regardless of whether someone is innocent or guilty of a 'crime'.) I live in trees to help save them and I care for our sacred earth mother. All these things are viewed as a weakness and in this setting weaknesses are preyed upon. None-the-less, I am truely divinely protected!! The problems I have faced have simply been opportunities for further growth, awareness, and healing. I feel this to be impeccably veritable: WE HAVE NO FRIENDS, WE HAVE NO ENEMIES, WE HAVE ONLY TEACHERS! I am doing well and I thank you all for your amazing love, support, prayers, and positive divine energy which you have been blessing me with and continue to bestow upon me. I wish you all love, blessings, and divine abundance.
Namaste,
tre
ATTENTION, a very special full moon this Sunday...please read more... please pass this on to anyone who needs to recieve it, thank you, and blessings:
June 11 - Full Moon - Transformation, Awakening
11:56 p.m. P.S.T. (West Coast of Turtle Island Time)
I call to all my brothers and sisters - to join our intent on this day towards awakening and illumination. I call on us to re-align with our divine potentials as beings of light on this Sacred Land.
Lets unite our tears of purification and soar together on the dawning of this remembered way.
If you feel the call, join in Spirit, align yourself with divine mother and father, the grandmothers and grandfathers, and your ancestors who walk the path of integrity and love for the greatest good of all beings. At midnight we will pray, and in the morning when grandfather sun rises he will continue with the energy of grandmother moon to purify and renew and heal the land and her inhabitants.
The awakening is here. The heavens and the earth are one and the same. May we have the courage to see and feel the beauty of this reality, this possibility. May we have the humility to ask for guidance and clarity in these times of growth and change.
Sisters and brothers, I pray that we may unite and see the truth within
each other and support each other on our way Home.
in love and light,
milota.
i am with you we are free
i am with you we are free
i am with you we are free
i am with you we are free
i am with you we are free
i am with you we are free

Hello to all you beautiful people. Today marks day 12 and the half-way point of my hunger strike. I'm doing well, and staying strong. It's been difficult, but manageable. Please, no need for concern or worry ... no fear, only love! We can go a long time without food, but water and deep breathing are much more essential. I've been consuming these two vital forces which are keeping me well.
My Dad fasted the first three days with me. A kind brother in Stumptown fasted the first day, and will be fasting on day 24 as well. My spirit sister in Winnipeg fasted on day one. A person I've yet to meet has been fasting with me, in solidarity, every day so far! A beautiful sister in Halifax intends on going the whole 24 days! Others are planning on fasting and / or cleansing soon. I appreciate the love and support pouring forth from everywhere.
As much as I don't like being locked up, I'm making the most of it. I'm doing yoga and qi-gong. I'm able to play some music occasionally in the chapel. I've been busy drawing, reading and writing. It's important to me to continue to share my words and passion with the world; and this is exactly what I'm doing. The FBI can use all their wealth and power to keep my body locked up, but they will never, ever, be able to cage my spirit, my heart and my words! My mission transcends these walls and reaches the hearts of the world. I take solace in the fact that no matter what may come and even long after my body leaves this plane my passion and mission will continue to reach the people on this precious Earth. May there come a day when all living beings (not just humyns) are honoured and respected, where competition is replaced with co-operation, where healthy food is a right, not a privilege; and wealth is measured not by how much one posessees, but by how much wisdom and love they share.
I'm with you in spirit
Namaste,
Tre
The Time Is Now
The time for action is here
There is only one way to live outside of fear
The old white men have been ruling far too long
It's time for the Goddess to sing her song
So stand together, take a hand, dance and sing
Let the music flow through everyone and everything
We are all one people, all one breath
All the same life, all the same death
All interwoven within this great mystery
Ageless and timeless, flowing through eternity

Hello to everyone, it's Tre, here behind these walls at Wilkie.
As March 13th, the two-year mark of my incarceration, rapidly approaches I am calling upon supporters to embark on a hunger strike with me. I am not protesting the conditions or my treatment here at Wilkie. To the contrary, I know the conditions of my incarceration could be much worse... My heart goes out to all those suffering behind prison walls around the world (like Guantanamo Bay, Abu Ghraib, Attica...). I protest the persecution I am experiencing because of my political opinion and a willingness to take a stand against the power structure within the so-called "democracy" of the U.S. I protest the fact that the U.S. government seeks life imprisonment against me for my alleged involvement in arsons, which 3 people pled guilty to and in exchange for implicating me, recieved 41-month sentences from a potential 80-year punishment. I protest the FBI's attempt to make an example out of me by criminalizing dissent and attempting to instill fear and immobilization within the environmental movement.
I am imprisoned for being a voice for the trees and putting my body and life on the line in an effort to save some of the last ancient forests of this continent. I am imprisoned while those killing our forests receive tax breaks! I am imprisoned while multi-national corporations pollute our air and water, contaminate our food supply, and poison, abuse and murder innocent, sentient, non-humyn animals.
Starting March 13th, I will be fasting for 24 days, one day symbolizing each month that have been incarcerated. Please join me in solidarity in this 24-day hunger strike. Join me for one, seven, ten, or the entire 24 days. In doing so, you will not only be supporting me, but we'll be calling attention to the ubiquitous suffering taking place here in Canada, and around the world.
Thank you for your support and solidarity, and thank you for continuing to spread the message.

Hello to everyone out there, it's Tre here...I'm doing fairly well, all-considered. A blessing to you all! The submissions to the Minister of Justice are complete. With the recent federal election and new minority government, the office of the Minister has changed hands. The new Minister of Justice is Vic Toews, however don't be discouraged if your letter was addressed to Irwin Cotler...the new Minister will still be reading all of your letters (ostensibly!)
Thank you to everyone who wrote a letter to the Minister on my behalf. I appreciate your respectful words of support. I have read some of the letters which my lawyer Tim printed out for me (on scrap paper...I have been successful in convincing Tim of the importance of using scrap/recycled paper - he prints copies for me on scrap paper and the final submissions to the minister were on post-consumer recycled paper).
Despite the change in hands, the Minister of Justice has required no further time to reach his decision concerning my extradition... the deadline is still April 4.
I'm doing fairly well, enjoying the budding of spring and will be sending you more soon.

Hello to you all it is Tre. Thank you to everyone for your continued amazing support, love and energy! It definitely helps keep me strong through these trying times. This last month has involved much activity including the international day of solidarity with political prisoners and P.O.W.'s on December 3, a wonderful, successful fundraising event in Victoria for my legal defence on December 15, the longest, darkest night of the year: the winter solstice which occored at 10:35am PST on wednesday December 21...
From Shawna:
On December 3rd, I joined with personal friends who know Tre and others in
OVER 25 countries around the world (including people in Palestine, the
Philippines, Haiti, Brazil, Italy, Switzerland, England, India and in
other US cities), marking the first "INTERNATIONAL DAY OF SOLIDARITY WITH
POLITICAL PRISONERS, PRISONERS OF WAR, AND POLITICAL EXILES". It was an
incredibly intense evening, with speakers including Ms. Kathleen Cleaver,
former Black Panther leader, Alicia Rodriquez, former Puerto Rican
political prisoner (pardoned by President Clinton after 19 years in prison), Donato
Continente, a recently released political prisoner from the Philippines
who spoke straight from his precious heart, and representatives from Haiti,
Palestine and the Cuban 5 were there, sharing their stories and the
importance of "taking a united and international approach to the freeing
of political activists and freedom fighters--it is essential that we share our
experiences and that we mount international campaigns" [D. Continente]. The
entire event was so powerful and extremely enlightening.
There are over 100 political prisoners incarcerated in the US and tens of thousands imprisoned around the world. Under the pretext of the Patriot Act and the "war on terror", the us gov't is imprisoning more people every day. The force-feeding of hunger strikers in Guantanamo, the torture of prisoners at Abu Ghraib and the use of secret prisons in Europe are only a few of the grave human rights abuses taking place around the world under the authority of the US gov't.

Benefit for Tre at the Solstice Cafe on December 15... by Shane:
it was a warm + wonderful gathering of friends + community basking in
our/their/tre's warmth - a wonderful gearup for the solstice soon
thereafter - a call to bring the light back. jeff andrews start'd the
evening off wonderfully w/ a few folk songs, old + new, including bruce
springsteen's "the ghost of tom joad" + ani difranco's passionate "your
next bold move." ang moran + lisa b then brought their words spoken
(rhymed + unrhymed) in a back to back succession follow'd by a jam session
by the beatboxin' pirates to get everybody's energy levels up, + their
feets a-movin'. evergreen brought the show to a close w/ a variety of
world instruments, a pair of amazing goddess voices + more spoken word.
we also had a raffle that included prizes from many of the show's
participants, + even a couple from folks who couldn't make it, but wish
they could've. a few people traded stories of their time(s) w/ tre, +
letterwriting was strongly encouraged (both to the minister of justice, +
to Tre). when all was said + done, we had a full house + a full evening
fill'd w/ loving intentions + positive vibes + managed to pull in $250.
Update from Tre:
The winter solstice, the longest night of the year, was indeed a dark time
for me. I am grateful to be returning to the light. The darkness and
challenges offer an intense canvas on which to paint and decorate all the
lighter colors in my life. I do feel it is true that if it weren't for the
darkness then it would not be possible to experience and apreciate the
light. A belated blessing to you all in honor of this time of year and
which ever tradition you follow and celebration you choose.
My 15 page affidavit to the minister of justice is complete! My lawer Tim continues to work dilligently on the submissions to the minister which are due on Jan 27 2006 (the minister gave us an extended deadline for the submissions from Dec. 5 to Jan. 27). The minister has until April 4 2006 to make his decision on whether or not to surrender me to the U.S.. Therefore, if you or anyone you know has not written your letter on my behalf... there is still time to do so! But please don't wait any longer! Details regarding your letter to the minister and what should be included follow:
Moderator's note: Information essential for letter-writing to the minister of justice is now on the Legal Update page. However, The January 27th 2006 deadline has passed.

BEYOND THESE WALLS AND FENCES
Beyond these walls and razor-wire fences there is a greater world. Beyond the concrete and steel, the polluting cars and chemical plants, the factory farms and pulp and paper mills; beyond the humyn[sic]-made buildings, machinery and pollution there is a world not made by humyns. A place where time and age melt together and become meaningless. A place where truth, solace and beauty weave their magic through all life. A place where the ancient wisdom of the universe flows through the water's current, seeps from the trees' exhale, pounces with the dancing animals and pulsates from the rock and dirt.
Take a walk outside the world of lights, cars, roads and buildings. Away from the bombardment of advertising and chaotic consumerism. Away from the incessant stressful cycle of work and debt. Find yourself sitting quietly among the flora and fauna. Here there is a peace and fulfillment which is beyond humyn creation, which is the source of all life on this planet, which flows through every living thing and binds us together as family. Here lies a certainty and knowingness that there is more at work than the busy-ness of humyn activity. This is worth saving. This is worth protecting. This is the womb of our mother from which we are all cast. She is being attacked and assaulted, pillaged and plundered. We have an obliteration and responsibility to protect her surfaces as we would instinctively protect our biological mother from being violated.
This is the remembering...will you join? Will you listen to the calls for help? Will you stand and oppose the crimes against life, against all life? The crimes that penetrate to the very core of who we are and where we came from. Crimes which shatter and destroy the notion that nature is more than a commodity to buy, sell and exploit. Crimes which echo the sad reality that we as a people have become lost along our quest for wealth and power. We have become profoundly disconnected from our earth mother, forgetting that she gives tirelessly, unconditionally. We have become blind to the resounding irony that what we are doing to her, we are doing to ourselves and what we are doing right now we do to the unborn generations to come. As we are all inextricably interconnected, we are all part of the web of life. And injustice to one, humyn or non-humyn, is an injustice to all of us...this is the remembering, this is the awakening. Do you hear the calls? Will you join? Will you take a stand?
Hello to you all it is Tre. There has been much going on this past month. I thank you all for your continued energy and support. An update covering legal, logistical and fun elements to my case will follow soon.
November 21st, 2005
Hey to all of you out there. It's Tre from Wilkie. Please don't misunderstand my last callout. This is no country club here! Wilkie offers a few "privileges" that weren't available to me at North Fraser. I am grateful to be able to access a few things which help to make this challenging existence a bit more tolerable. This reality of living in a cage is the most toxic, oppressive atmosphere I have ever endured. This is a life governed by fear, with a schedule and routine of spinning clocks and slamming metal doors. There are constant stresses and conflicts, but I figure it's better to focus on the positive rather than the negative, eh?
This morning I glanced out the window and witnessed a few deer pouncing by on the other side of the fence- What it's like to be a free wild animal! And tonight i gazed out the window and viewed the North Star and Big Dipper for the first time in almost two years. It was a glorious sight, reminding me whence we came, to where we may return, and how much greatness & mystery lie beyond these Humyn-made walls...
LEGAL UPDATE:
- Letters to the Minister of Justice Irwin Cotler
- Submissions to the Minister
- My appeal
LETTERS TO THE MINISTER
Thank you to all who have written your letter to the Minister. For those who haven't written their letter yet...IT'S NOT TOO LATE! However, the time is now, please don't wait any longer. The submissions to the Minister are due by Dec. 5. He has until May to make his decision whether or not to surrender me to the US. However, he may make his decision sooner, so please write your letter ASAP, so he has your words of support to consider when making his decision. Consider this letter writing campaign to the Minister to be an enormous help to me in which you can easily take part. Please see the previous callout, or go to www.trearrow.org for full details about the letter writing campaign. If you don't have the time or energy to send a copy to my lawyer Tim or to local newspaper editors please just send your one letter to the Minister. Thanks again!
SUBMISSIONS TO THE MINISTER
My legal defense team and I are working on the submissions to the Minister of Justice which are due by December 5, 2005. Thanks to all those who are helping with the work and research involved in this. The three main arguments opposeing my extradition which make up "the submissions" are as follows:
- This prosecution and extradition is politically motivated and I am being targeted and persecuted for my political beliefs.
- Considering the well-documented abuses and violations of Prisoners' rights in US prisons and my particular diet and religious beliefs, I will not be able to get fair treatment if convicted of the charges.
- The sentencing I face in the US is not only inconsistent with Canadian sentencing, it is also an example of overzealous targeting of environmental Activists by the US government and the FBI.
APPEAL
At present no date has been set to appeal the committal order from Magistrate Gill. It will most likely be in January or February of 2006. Even though it would make lagal and logistical sense to make our submissions to the Minister after the outcome of the appeal hearings, the Minister has refused to wait, and is requiring us to file our submissions by December 5, 2005.
Further details and more elaborate legal explanations to follow in a few weeks...

Hello to you all out there. It's Tre from behind these walls at Wilkie. I'm not jazzed about being locked up, but if I have to be, I am grateful to be here. Most of the staff is kind and the administration has made a concerted effort to accommodate my raw vegan diet. I can see and feel the rays of grandfather sun and grandmother moon. I can breath in fresh air through the metal grate covering the open part of my window. I've heard birds chirping outside my window, and have watched them pouncing on the grass, jerking and capturing the earthworms from the soil. I have been able to get outside and feel the cool, soft grass beneath my feet. I attended a sweat lodge ceremony with an elder native named Ron, along with three other prisoners. It was divine! My skin was reddened while tending to the grandfather rocks in the fire. This was the longest stretch of outside time I've had in more than 19 months: three hours! It was quite surreal returning to the cinder block cell after such a powerful ceremony. I'm able to practice yoga with a group once a week. The instructor, Rob, is a gentle, kind man exuding a peaceful energy, not abundantly common in this particular setting. I've also had the ecstatic pleasure of playing guitar! I can't have the guitar in my cell, but I can practice about once a week in the chapel- so sweet!
In case you missed the last call out or have recently joined the supporters list, I'm inclosing the previous message dealing with a crucial letter writing campaign to the Canadian Minister of Justice, and newspaper editors across the continent. These letters are an extremely important act of support and solidarity for me and my legal defense. This is an opportunity for you as my concerned supporters to eliminate the feeling of helplessness that many have expressed. This simple, tangible act of sharing your thoughts and feelings can be extremely empowering. This gives you the chance to have your words documented, your voice heard, and can have a dramatic impact on the Minister's decision whether or not to extradite me.
October 12th, 2005
Moderator's note: Information essential for letter-writing to the minister of justice is included in this post
Hello to you all, it's Tre. I'm doing well here at Wilkie. My lawyer and I have been working on the submissions to the Minister. This is an intricate part of the appeal process. Even though I've been committed for extradition by Magistrate Gill, the Minister of Justice Irwin Cotler has the power to overturn her decision and not extradite me to the US. I'm writing an affidavit stating the reasons why I feel he should oppose my extradition. I will post this affidavit once it is complete for all to read and pass on to others, if so desired.
What is crucial in this stage of the appeal is for you, all my supporters, to write a letter of your own to the minister of justice. I'm asking as many folks as possible to do this in order to show the Canadian government, the US government, the Minister of Justice, and citizens throughout North America and the world that I have tremendous support including overwhelming opposition to my extradition to the United States.
This letter writing campaign entails a two-pronged strategy. We want to put gentle yet persuasive pressure on the minister to oppose my extradition, and also let him know that these letters are simultaneously being sent to the editors of local newspapers throughout Canada, the USA, and beyond. By doing this, it will not be as easy for the minister to turn a blind eye to the letters concerning my politically motivated extradition if he is cognizant that many voters throughout Canada will be reading these letters in their local newspapers. It will be harder to extradite me if there is published wide-spread outcry about the injustices and persecution I face.
The letter should include:
- Please address the letter to the Minister of Justice, Irwin Cotler.
The Honourable Irwin Cotler
Minister of Justice
284 Wellington Street
Ottawa, Ontario
Canada K1A 0H8 - Please have your letters sent to the Minister, my lawyer Tim, and the editors by November 7th.
- The letter should be hard copy, not email (exception: your letter to the editor can be in email format)
- Please send a hard copy of your full-length letter to my lawyer, Tim
Russell, so he has a legal record of who has sent a letter, and it's
contents.
Tim Russell
c/o McCullough, Parsons, Blazina
2nd floor, 1011 Fort St
Victoria BC V8V 3K5 - Send an abbreviated version of your letter (no more than 400 words so that it is more likely to get published and not edited) to your local newspaper(s) editor. If you reside outside of Canada, please consider sending an additional letter to the editor of a Canadian city or town of your choice;
- Include your name, your occupation, and/or status in the community;
- Include how you know me and/or your relation to me, how long you've known me, your impression of my character, your experience with me, or your knowledge of my involvement in non-violent activism;
- Please let the Minister know that you are a voter, and that you are sending a copy of this letter to your local newspaper's editor;
- Please express your opinion as to why you feel I shouldn't be extradited (that this would be a disgrace to Canadian justice, the fact that the US is trying to sentence me to life imprisonment, and the only evidence against me are the words of three "witnesses" who exchanged testimony for less than 3.5 year sentences, that I am being targeted and persecuted not because I am guilty but because I have been involved in effective activism that has garnered enormous public support, that I can't get a fair trial because of wide spread media bias, that my diet will not likely be honored, etc...)
- Please be polite and respectful and non-accusatory as we don't want to do anything to jeopardize him being sympathetic to my case.
- Make sure the letter includes your signature.
- Please use tree-free or 100% post consumer recycled paper for your letters and envelopes. The trees, wildlife and rivers thank you!
Once you have sent your letter to the minister, a copy of this letter to my lawyer Tim, and your abbreviated email version to your local newspaper's editor, please send this email to at least two other people who would be willing to do the same. We are aiming for at least 2000 letters to be sent to the minister and local newspapers. This figure is achievable!!! However, it can't be done without you. We are making an effort to tally the numbers of letters sent to the Minister and are planning on posting this to our website: www.trearrow.org. Please, once you have sent your letters, send a quick email to clerk@telus.net and put in the subject line: letter to Minster, and in the body: your name (or initials, if you would rather) and the city you are from. If you would like to include an email copy of your letter, please do so, and we will post some of the letters on the website.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart and soul for your love, support, and help with this crucial part of my appeal. These letters could be the pivitol factor in achieving my freedom.

hello to you all. it's tre. i am doing well, and getting settled in here at wilkie. I wish you all a blessed autumnal equinox. I have some poetry to share with you all;
There's a Hitler in every one of us, jesus is in everybody's soul. it's up to us to decide who's in control
Skies hold the price of industry; while elderly white men claim all that's free
does it make it you feel content and calm like the pool of pearl in your palm?
Misogynistic, racist, and corporate text books; focus not on your heart and soul, but on your looks
Don't think for yourself, don't tell us the truth; what are we teaching our youth?
Kill all the forests; never mind clean air; never mind the animals who lived there
never mind the sacred wisdom of the trees; desecrate and excavate as you please
cage, trap, mutilate, murder and devour the tastiest animal muscles of the hour
no teeth, eyes, ears, heart, or limbs remain to remind you from where it came
the answer to cancer is cruel animal tests; pull out your organs and slice your chest
never thinking once just whence it came; isn't this a bit insane?
Well, I see these things laid out before me
do you see what's in front of you and me?
Image is everything so consume and gobble; fill yourself with fattening, processed garbage till you wobble
Because happiness is measured by material goods and ifs shoulds, coulds, and woulds
put a nail, put a bomb, put a bullet in their flesh; lock up and try to break us down until not much is left
But one divine thing you forgot you can't repress: undeniable righteousness
Organized religion hard at work trying to bring you down and make you feel like a jerk
Because if you're filled with guilt and shame you're well behaved; give us money, pray and you will be saved!
Nuclear weapons, power plants, and toxic waste dumped on the natives who were here in the first place
Because money, power, and greed take priority over life, freedom, and liberty.
A beautiful goddess in stirrups while dr. egner hiccups and upchucks
They poke, proud, pluck, and drain your veins; isn't this a bit insane?
Well, I see these things laid out before me
Do you see what's in front of you and me?
Do you see the sacredness and divinity within every living thing?
Within every rock, animal, plant, and tree?
Will you see these things laid out before you and me?
There's a Hitler in every one of us, jesus is in everybody's soul
it's up to us to decide who's in control

Hello to all, it's Tre. I've been moved to VIRCC (Wilkie) in Victoria, BC. This is centre I was initially held before being transferred to Vancouver. I am happy to be back here as, this facility offers many advantages over North Fraser. For the first time in almost a year and a half, I have been able to get my feet in the grass, and the sun directly on my skin without any tint or fence between myself and grandfather sun. I have been able to receive fresh air through the window in the cell I'm being held. The cell faces south, therefore I can receive grandfather's rays in the cell much of the day.
The transition has been a little bit difficult and I am trying to get settled here in my new home. I am grateful for the administration accommodating my diet and working with me to make this transition bearable.

A Day of Fasting
I find myself in a world of concrete and steel, glass and plastic, red and
blue... Here in Canada, I fast on this day in honor of all those who gave
their lives that I might have these rights and privileges afforded me
while incarcerated. Rest assured this is no picnic; I don't enjoy being
locked in a cage, yet I'm appreciative for what I do have and acknowledge
the reality that many others here and abroad are suffering profoundly.
Many are being tortured and persecuted and deprived of their basic humyn
rights! I am no criminal! I don't belong here... No being is meant for a
cage! No matter what "crime" one commits, the answer is not incarceration.
There is no simple answer, no simple solutions to this world of oppression in which I find myself embedded... A world where the truth is obscured by illusion and confusion where profit and power dictate government and corporate decisions, where environmental degradation has reached catastrophic depths, when those who dare to challenge the power structure and protest social injustices are persecuted and imprisoned, when the majority of the wealth in the world rests in the hands of a few, where the number of white folk compared to non-white folk in the prison population (in the US and Canada) is grossly disproportionate to the general population, where disease and desecration run rampant, where corruption and wealth go hand in hand, where those in places of power within the government, military and corporations commit egregious atrocities and never spend a day in jail... This world is not meant for me. This world which is dominated by fear and greed. No, quite certainly there is another world which is possible. A world that we can create. A world which replaces the dysfunction dominating this paradigm with a world filled with peace, love and justice.
They can cage our bodies but not our minds and spirits! They may try to oppress and quell our actions, but we will never cease to seek and speak the truth. We are growing in numbers and will not be stilled. WE will continue to strive for freedom, justice, respect, honor, equality, preservation, health and happiness for everyone and everything on this one and only planet, this precious Earth Mother!

I'm sitting on my bed, in my cell eating an orange. I think it's quite amazing that I am able to eat this orange which is grown thousands of kilometers away from here shipped via fossil fuels and provided to me on my yellow, plastic meal tray at lunch. I wonder how many beings have suffered for me to enjoy this orange. It calls into my mind all those who are suffering so that I can eat every day! I wonder how many are going hungry around the world today while north americans throw millions of kilograms of perfectly edible food into a landfill. The waste of our culture, food production, the sexual politics of the dead-animal industry, the desecration of Earth-Mother, the unspeakable violence and abuse and murder which our animal friends endure every day in order to be converted from a living, sentient creature into something called a big mac or whopper. I've noticed recently a conscious effort on behalf of the dead -animal \ fast food industry to appeal to a healthier-minded culture. Fresh fruit and veggies are advertised constantly in addition to, and sometimes in lieu of a dead animal choice. I wonder how many death-on-a-bun items would be sold if fast food joints presented the options for what they actually are instead of a pretty picture and a corresponding number. Would you like a slab of dead pig, chicken or cow? All three options include mutilation, abuse, fear, antibiotics, steroids, hormones and high levels of fat and cholesterol. All three choices contribute to land, air and water pollution, rainforest destruction, as well as heart disease and cancer... complete with fries and a soda for only $2.99!!
I wonder how different this world would be if this element of death and violence was removed from our culture. Some say one person can't change the world, but I suggest every one of us changes the world everyday with our thoughts w, actions, purchases (or lack there of) and food choices. Oh yes, quite certainly the power to effect positive change and make this world a healthier, happier, more peaceful place for every living thing is well within our grasp. The choice is mine, the choice is yours... The power to stop the madness, corruption, pollution and exploitation which plagues this precious planet begins and ends with you and me! If not now, then when... If not you, then who?

Let's set the record straight and maybe the media will be obliged to cease their habit of spreading slander and misinformation relating to me in my case. I'm Tre Arrow! I legally changed my name to Tre Arrow 5 years ago. I had changed my name long before I lived in the trees at Eagle Creek (contrary to reports attempting to portray me as less-than-sane by alleging I said,"The trees told me to change my name"). I am a man who is dedicated to a life of non-violent activism and social justice. I've been involved with various issues ranging from the environment to non-humyn animal welfare to humyn rights. I am a man who thinks, feels and cares about the wellbeing of everyone and everything. The desecration to our only earth-mother, the abuse and slaughtering of our co-inhabitants and the rampant violation to civil and humyn rights has motivated me to take non-violent action to oppose and expose what I see as heinous crimes in our culture.
I am a threat because I stand in the way of corporate and government agendas. I am a threat because I cause corporations to lose precious profit from raping and pillaging earth-mother. I am a threat because I speak about the lies, cover-ups and atrocities committed by the hands of government and corporate figures. I am a threat because I speak the truth! The Powers That Be don't want us to know the truth!
This is why I am being targeted. This is why I am in prison. This is why I am facing the rest of my life behind bars, walls, and fences. I will not be still. I will not be silent. As long as these injustices continue towards me, the planet, our non-humyn animal friends and our brothers and sisters here and abroad then there is still work to do. May we all strive to create a world filled with love, justice, and respect for everyone and everything.

It's a sad day for justice-July 7th, the year 2005. The G8 Summit in Scotland has commenced, bombings in London make all the headlines and top news stories and Canada has committed me for extradition to the U.S to face alleged arson charges. Arsons which destroyed vehicles-no living thing was hurt, yet the U.S government and the Canadian government in its complicity seek to imprison me for the rest of my life!
While those who call themselves the leaders of the "civilized" world condemn "terrorists" for taking the lives of innocent people, they are responsible for murdering millions of innocent people around the world. The powers that be weave their web of delusion with their lies and propaganda, misleading and misinforming the masses so that no one knows what's really going on. Bush, Blair and Martin claim to be concerned about poverty, degradation to the environment and violations to humans, yet activists are targeted and innocent people are incarcerated for taking a stand and speaking out.
The corporate media makes a concerted effort to discredit and ostracize those of us who dare to challenge the status quo; those of us who dare to question the dependency on money and material acquisition at the price of widespread desecration; those of us who dare to step outside the norm, to challenge what we are told and to offer an alternative way of thinking and living-the media and the powers that be attempt to ruin our name and reputation and brand us as "crazy". Are we crazy, or is this society crazy? This society which places power, profit and greed above the sanctity of all life.

Hello to everyone out there!
In case you haven't heard, my extradition hearing has been progressing as well as can be expected. My deepest gratitude and love to all those who bless me with their smiling, shining faces during the extradition hearings. And to all of you who have been keeping me in your thoughts and prayers during these times-. A huge thanks to you as well. I send huge props to Tim Russell, my lawyer who delivered a compelling and solid argument opposing my extradition. I feel the judge was fair in her receiving the submissions. She could have been hostile or unwilling to hear some of Tim's presentation, yet she listened, took notes and allowed him to submit arguments dealing with the details of my case. These hearings can be a bit dry and overwhelmingly sleep inducing and I'm glad it's over. This Thursday July 7th, the Judge will make her decision on some or all of Tim's submissions. So when we hear the word we will pass on whatever news we have and what that means for my future.
As oppressive, grueling, violating and disconcerting as this incarceration has been, I know there are so many others around the world who are suffering far worse than I am. I am so blessed to have so many beings in my life surrounding me with love, support and strength. An injustice to one is an injustice to all-whether it's a tree, aboriginal, womyn, or a whale; we are all impacted and affected by how every living thing is treated. May we manifest a world with equality and justice for everyone and everything.

Home.
I've been musing about the concept of home and homelessness- Sometime ago I received a picture postcard from a friend. She spends a substantial amount of time in the forest and is also quite a gifted photographer. The picture captured a clear, crisp view of several conifers standing strong and dazzling in all their magic and beauty. As I gazed at the picture I was instantly transported to the forest in Oregon and could literally smell the scent that was the unmistakable mintiness of the conifer needles. It called into memory the times I spent with the ancient forests, living on makeshift platforms several meters above the ground. I remember vividly the scent of the trees, early morning dew, and the cool evening breeze. I witnessed the dancing of squirrels and dodged the falling cones as they were dislodged from above me. My ears were filled with a swoosh, swoosh of the magical flight of the winged ones. I'll never forget the serene stillness of the dark night, far away from the noise and chaos of the buzzing city. Like the owl, hawk and eagle, perched high in the tree, I'd peer at the dazzling sunset painted across the western sky. I not only lived in the tree I lived with the tree- swinging quietly with the canopy among all the mystery of the forest. This was my home- I was immensely grateful for the opportunity to be intricately connected with nature. I was over whelmed with a sense of purpose, simultaneously protecting and sharing this sacred place with all the flora and fauna that also called this home.
Now I find myself locked behind doors, walls and fences. This is now my home-. At a certain time, I thought the staff here quite insolent to refer to these cells we live in as "houses". "Get in your house" or "Which house is yours?" they'd say. Yet, lately I've been pondering this concept and suppose this cell I'm in could be considered a kind of a one room house: two narrow horizontal windows covered in tint; a door that automatically locks when closed; a florescent light that never turns off, white, shiny, cold porcelain toilet and sink; a "desk" attached to one of the walls; a door less "closet" to store our clothes which contains two hangers to hold our towels. These hangers come dislodged if they incur a certain amount of downward pressure, preventing us from hanging ourselves!
Although I would never choose this place as a home, I'm cognizant of those who call doorways, alleys and cardboard boxes their home. Are they any more free than I? Is anyone truly free in this "modern, civilized" society that places money, power and material acquisition above the sanctity of life? Is anyone truly free when our culture knowingly and willingly takes away the homes of the birds, squirrels, wolves, bears- taken away with the sound of the falling trees to make way for more homes for more humyns (sic) to occupy? Is anyone truly free when countless womyn are being victimized and oppressed in their own home? Is anyone truly free when natives of this turtle island continue the struggle to oppose the genocide of their people and desecration of this land that they call "home" long before Columbus stumbled upon these shores?
Despite the enormous dichotomy between the rich and the poor and the profound inequality within our culture, earth mother whispers, "no one is homeless". Whatever one they call "home": a tree, a hole in the ground, a mansion, a lean-to, an apartment, a sidewalk with a concrete pillow, a cell- earth mother has always been and will always be our home. A home to every living thing. As much as I don't enjoy being locked in a cage, there is still much for which I am grateful. Millions of beings, humyn and non-humyn, are suffering enormously and needlessly. I will not rest, I will not be silent, I will continue to expose the injustices in our society and strive to manifest a world free of all atrocities, where every living thing is truly free.
My support, love and solidarity go out to all those struggling and suffering. To all the womyn of the world, all the political prisoners and POW's, to all the beings, humyn and non-humyn, whose homes have been taken or destroyed. May the day come when all homes in whatever form they take are free of oppression and filled with love, respect, comfort and joy! Namaste, Tre

Mayday, International Workers day, Beltane and Haymarket remembrances...
A return to the light. Earth mother rests and restores her seed during the winter months. Now life springs forth in all its beauty, sense, and vitality. A seed gets burned in the darkness. A small and fragile entity among the powers of nature lying still, alone, and cold, yet steadfast. When winter yields to spring the seed captures water, light, and air and strengthens its hold. By summer and fall the seed has blossomed, grown and transformed into a flower, fruit or a tree.
No matter what kind of darkness, oppression or challenges that lie before us, our strength will prevail. Just as the seeds grows from something small and becomes the courier of greatness, all of our actions, no matter how small they may seem, collectively bring about great change and a monumental paradigm shift. "In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations." (From the Great Law of the Iroquois Nation)
The glow of the Beltane fires, the joy of the maypole dances, the aura of the freshness and virginity of the new day and the feelings of love and admiration towards all life... a call from the goddess to honor this time of year for whatever it means to you.

Hello to all your beautiful people!
Thank you immensely for your continued support of love and energy. The walls here at the North Fraser Pre-Trial Centre confine my body, but not my mind, heart or my soul...
I receive the love, light and energy for Grandmother Moon and Grandfather Sun. My skin is blessed with their rays. My heart is filled with joy and gratitude when I receive the love and support pouring in from countless folks around the world, including you folks reading my message. My spirits sore to the ends of the earth and travels at night in my dreams to visit my loved ones. The powers that be may try to stop me, silence me or kill me, but the truth will always remain; the atrocity committed against Earth Mother, humanity and our non-humyn animal friends is unacceptable and unnecessary. The more we challenge the dominate culture, the more peaceful direct action we take, the less we consume, the more we dance, the less we work, the more we play, the less we operate out of fear, the more we dare to be honey and love, the less time we spend in the city, the more we surround ourselves in nature, the less TV we watch, the more books we read, the more we share, the less we divide ourselves, the more we communicated and live co-operative, the less dependent we are on corporate paradigm, the healthy and happier we will all be!
Ask yourselves what is more important to you, ask your self what brings you joy, then find those things, bask in them and surround yourselves in them as much as possible. Seeking the true and spread the goods to the world. Let us together bring about an end to the oppression, and lets create a world where all life is honored and respected. So we can swim in clear water, eat pure food and smell the sweet conifers every day.
My love, respect and gratitude to you all...

Greetings to everyone,
This is Tre and I am surviving here in prison. Some disconcerting new about seal hunting; on Tuesday March 29th, the seal hunt began in the gulf of St. Laurence and hundreds of thousand of innocent, sentient seals are in jeopardy of being ruthlessly killed. For more information and to find out about what we can all do to stop this atrocity please visit www.stopthesealhunt.com or www.harpseals.org.
Some thoughts on letters I've received; firstly, I've would like to extend my utmost gratitude to each and everyone who has blessed me with their writings. The words of love and support, art and pictures have brought me such joy and have given me continued strength to endure this hardship. Secondly, I want you to know that it is extremely difficult for me to write letters, but I haven't forgotten about you. Please know that I treasure all the letters I receive and even if you don't receive a letter in return, I don't take any correspondence for granted. Thank-you for your understanding and when I am more able, I will write you. Lastly, a friendly reminder to all who do write, to please use scrap papers and envelopes in order to help save our precious tree and other sacred resources. A huge thank-you to all of those who have been using scrap paper and envelopes or 100% post-consumer paper or tree free paper.
For those who do wish for a response I offer these two options: phone calls are the easy and most practical way for me to keep in touch with folk, therefore, if you would like to receive a call from me, please include your number in your letter or send your phone number to my support crew at tre@riseup.net and you will definitely be hearing my voice in the near future. Secondly, with the help of my support crew, I can send responses via email. If you wish to receive a reply from your letter via email, please include your email address in your letter and/or send your email address to my support crew at tre@riseup.net with the request to receive an email response. email tre@riseup.net
Thank-you again to all of you for your continuing support and a reminder that my extradition hearing has been moved from April to June 27th - 29th. I will keep you all posted on all future updates and have a beautiful day.

Hey to everybody.
I hope you have celebrated the Spring Equinox. I can see that Grandmother Moon is waxing and the Sun is rises higher in the sky every day. I am so grateful for the small connection to the natural elements while incarcerated.
My support crew and I have some requests. Firstly, in terms of the Speaking Tour, we are looking for a vehicle to be loaned or sold to us that runs on biodiesel, vegetable oil or any diesel vehicle. This way we can continue the speaking tour, spread awareness about my case, seek a bondsperson, all the while creating as little impact as possible to our Earth Mother. We are also asking if anyone would be interested, or knows someone who would be interested, in participating in a US speaking tour similar to that which has been happening in Canada. In Canada, we need people to help organize speaking events, print copies of pamphlets and fliers and help with postering, and we are seeking folks who would be interested in being presenters at speaking engagements. For more information or to help manifest this, please get in touch with my Defense Committee through tre@riseup.net.
We are also asking folks to make phone calls and write letters to MLAs (Members of Legislative Assembly). Please encourage others to write letters, make phone calls or send e-mails to their senators, congresspersons or other government representatives. Conjure as much support as you can from as many people as possible! This will increase the chances of my being acquitted and being set free. Also, we are looking for celebrity support, such as Bonnie Raitt, Michael Franti, the Indigo Girls or any others known to support activists or political causes.
Presently, the person who calls himself the President of the United States has just announced that the protection for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge has been eradicated. The planned resource exploitation will have myriad negative impacts on the flora and fauna of the arctic region including the caribou, and will seriously affect the subsistence existence of the Gwich'in people. For more information on this issue, please see links below.

My extradition hearing has been adjourned until June 27th, 2005. This will give my Defense more time to provide an adequate case to stop the injustice I may face.
To everyone, thank you for your love and support on all of these issues.

Hello to all you beautiful people!
On Sunday, March 13th I will have been incarcerted for a full year. For those of you who may be recently learning of my story, I offer a few words. I have been a long-time peaceful activist involved with a myriad of issues ranging from poverty and homelessness, to saving ancient forests, to protecting our co-inhabitants. I've engaged in non-violent civil disobedience as a means of exposing and opposing the atrocities committed against our Earth Mother, humyns (sic) and our animal friends. I have volunteered with countless non-profit organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada addressing these social issues and striving to effect positive change within government policy, corporate agendas and mainstream culture. I have chosen to seek the truth and speak the truth and challenge the status quo through my actions and words.
We live in a culture which revolves around money and material acquisitions. While we in North America make up less than ten percent of the world's population, we consume the majority of the world's resources. While we throw millions of kilograms of perfectly edible food into a landfill every day, millions around the world are starving to death. The last of the ancient forests is being destroyed and thousands of species are going exticnt every year. The humyn race is riddled with disease and depression and hospitals and jails are bulging at the seams. Much of the collassal suffering that is taking place around the world is a result of corporate agendas and government policy putting power and profit before protecting the sacredness of all life on this planet. There is another world outside of this maddness and oppression.
My love and passion for this planet and all beings that share this only home we have has led me to engage in the non-violent activism that has been well-documented. I am currently awaiting a consequential extradition, which could see me returned to the United States. The Media has branded me an 'eco-terrorist', even though I am not even being charged with 'terrorism'. This continuous untruth has effected my reputation and effectively convicted me in the eyes of our society. If I am sent back to the United States, I will not receive a fair trial due to this perpetual branding.
The support of the B.C. community is of the greatest importance right now. I am currently seeking a $300 000 surety in the form of cash or equity towards property or a home within B.C.. I have been imprisoned for close to a year now and to be free from these walls and fences which confine me would not only be an enormous blessing, but would also greatly enhance my access to resources and information. The 'Media as the Judge' speaking tour has been successful in constantly engaging with new members of the B.C. community who may be able to connect us with a potential surety. If you know of anyone, please contact my Defense Committee.
The smell of flowers and blossoms from the trees, the feeling of wet moss under our feet, the clear, crisp water and breeze, the songs of joy from birds overhead, and the mosaic painting splashed across the western sky at sunset and the magic that radiates from the symbiotic relationship between all the flora and fauna of this precious planet-this is worth saving, this is worth protecting, for the next seven generations of all life forms, let us come together and create a world free of oppression which honours the diversity and beauty of all life.
Namaste,
Tre

Hello to every one,
I am happy to say that I have been able to receive the rays from Grandfather Sun and Grandmother Moon for several days and nights now. I also have had a little spider friend keeping me company outside my window. To be somewhat connected to the natural world from which I am fairly isolated has given me great joy.
Ben and Mynah continue to travel and seek out a bondsperson. The speaking engagements are going well and they are making wonderful connections with several beautiful people throughout communities within B.C. My deepest love and respect to them for all of their dedication and effort. Unfortunately, this requires money. Therefore, we are calling upon anyone and everyone to make a donation of whatever amount they see fit in order to keep the tour going. I feel the more we can continue to get the word out about my case, the stronger the chance I can be released on house arrest. This money is essential to help manifest a bondsperson. For anyone in the U.S., please send your donation to the U.S. TALDF (Tre Arrow Legal Defense Fund) account. For anyone in Canada or any other country but the U.S., please send your donation to the Canadian TALDF account.
Thank you all so much for your support and whatever contribution you could make.
Talk to you all soon.

Hello to everyone. I'm doing pretty well on this new unit of which I've been on for nearly three weeks now. I've been able to see grandfather sun several times now and get some healthy fresh air. Some of the nights I've been able to have the cell all to myself which has been so delightful! I've been listening to some great music coming through the little speaker on the wall of the cell. And I'm happy to say that my sister, Gina, has found her true love. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude and love to all the folk who continually bless me with love and support.
The Canadian speaking tour with Mynah and Ben is continuing throughout Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. I am so grateful for all the energy and dedication that has contributed to making this tour a reality. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this effort. I have a series of interviews lined up and I'm excited about continuing to get the message out to the masses. The message being we have only one planet and all life on this planet is sacred. Oppression in all its forms is not part of this equation. May we all be free and may the wild places stay forever wild.

**Alive and well from behind these walls and fences: Tre Arrow - Dec. 9th, 2004**
It is a harsh and saddening reality to ponder over the oppression and abuse that humyns (sic.) are subjected to by other humyn's. Furthermore, humyn's seem to not have any qualms about causing suffering towards our fellow animal friends and our only home, our sacred Earth Mother. Just like certain songs portray as well as being the essential theme behind the star wars movies, there is an element of light in every one of us despite the darkness in our lives. This light burns bright in me and I am so grateful for the love, energy and support that is put forth, Thank-you everyone!
At this time what I need from you all is continued support in whatever capacity you are willing and able to contribute. The following are some of the highest priorities that I can use at this time from anyone and everyone:
- Continual funds to go towards phone and legal defense.
- We are trying to manifest my bail release which will constitute someone in BC generous enough to put up $300,000 in the form of cash or surety towards house or property (preferably among any of the islands or sunshine coast or lower mainland). To help manifest this I encourage everyone to talk to as many people as possible to spread the word and try to find someone who may be willing to come forward and help out with getting me out of jail.
- Continual letters and visits are always greatly appreciated (info on how to get here by mass transit as well as to find visit times and booking etc. can be found at www.trearrow.org. Also, please write any letters on scrap paper and envelopes).
- Continual love prayers and energy is what helps keep me strong and alive.
