Father's Day and Summer Solstice blessing

Hello to everyone.  I wish you all a blessed father's, grandfather's, great grandfather's, etc, day!!  What a powerful time to be alive on this planet, eh? I would like to acknowledge this time of year here in the Northern Hemisphere as we approach the longest day of the year, the summer solstice, and the time when we are closest to our grandfather sun.  The summer solstice is occuring on Wed June 21 at 10:26 a.m. pacific (West Coast of Turtle Isl.) time.  Without grandfather sun we would not have all the bounty that earth mother provides to nourish and heal our bodies and spirits.  I give great thanks!  I also pray for all the brothers and sisters who are sundancing at this time.  I send a blessing to all the beings in the southern hemisphere celebrating the winter solstice.

I give great thanks to you, dad, for the father that you have been to me my whole life and for all that you have blessed me with.  I give thanks to all of my relations and all of my ancestors who have contributed to the being who I am on this day.  Again during this time of honoring the father I call to mind the Universal balance of the masculine and feminine, the yin and yang.  In doing so I honour our earth mother, our spirit father, all the birth mothers, all the birth fathers...I love you all!

I would like to share these words with you, which was the original lords prayer:
“Cosmic Birther, Earth Mother Father Heaven present within the universe. Clear out the old and make the Holy of Holies within me. Come into this Holy of Holies, the bedroom of our hearts, and prepare us for the marriage of power and beauty. Heaven meets Earth in acts of compassion. We are now clear and ready to act. We take responsibility for wise, compassionate action. Give us this day, nourishment and understanding. Embrace us wholly as we embrace others.  Allow us to remember what's important so that we may hone oportunities and continue to bear the fruits of our love. From you is born all creativity, the song of creation that renews from age to age.”

I highly recommend the book 'The Way of the Peaceful Warrior' by Dan Millman.  (Please acquire used or borrowed from a library...for the benefit and health of every living thing).

I Will write more soon,
Namaste,

TRE'S OFFICIAL RESPONSE TO THE MINISTER'S DECISION:

moderators note: The text below has been slightly modified from its original form.

Hello to everyone, it's Tre here. The Minister of Justice Vic Toews has announced his decision regarding my extradition to the U.S. He has issued an unconditional surrender order for me to face the arson charges in the state of Oregon. "Unconditionally" means he is not granting our request to get assurances from the U.S. government that I will be treated fairly or that my raw, vegan diet will be honoured while incarcerated in the U.S. Soon I will post all the details regarding our submissions and the Minister's response so everyone may have a clear idea of what is going on. Even though this decision is disappointing to me, I'm not surprised. My lawyer, Tim and I will be immediately filing the necessary paperwork letting the Canadian government know our intention to appeal his decision. I find it quite unfortunate that the powers that be within the Canadian government seem to be unable or unwilling to exercise their own conscience and sever themselves from the political pressure and intimidation from the powers that be to the south. This is true not only for my case, but in the matters pertaining to John Graham, Mark Emery and Al Ruemeyer. This calls to mind Meher Arar and others who have been unlawfully detained in Canada, turned over to the U.S., shipped to other countries and endured intense suffering and torture only later to be found innocent of any wrongdoing.

This is not a sad day. This is actually a joyous day because it is a gorgeous spring day. Birds and other animals are alive and active. I can hear them through the open window of the cell I occupy. Grandfather Sun is beaming down on us through a brilliantly clear blue sky. I am alive, healthy and well. It's a joyous day because I'm not going anywhere! I'm staying in Canada while we appeal the Minister's decision. I'm staying here at Wilkie where my diet is being honoured so I can continue to nourish my body and strengthen my spirit for what lies ahead. I will continue to take whatever action possible to help the truth prevail and ultimately see me free from these walls. It's a joyous day because I am announcing a full-fledged worldwide campaign to achieve vindication for myself. Support for me and my case in Canada and the U.S., as well as throughout the world, continues to grow. This support is not going away, it is only increasing. I am extremely grateful for the family I have around me, including a dedicated and committed defense committee helping me achieve what I need for as long as I need it.

My name is Tre Arrow. I follow a life governed by my conscience and guided by the Essene and Buddhist faiths. Every thought, action, word, food choice and purchase is considered with it's impact to the planet and every living thing. I live a life which incorporates love, respect and peace on every level towards everyone and everything. I do not engage in any form of violence, whether that be physical, mental, emotional, sexual or spiritual.

The only "evidence" against me in this case is the testimony of the 3 co-accused who plead guilty to these arsons and recieved a sentence of less than 3 1/2 years from a potential 80 year punishment in exchange for implicating me as the "ringleader." I now face the rest of my life in prison for the same exact charges. I challenge the FBI or any other form of government to bring forth one shred of evidence against me (other than the aformentioned testimony of Jake, Jeremy and Angie) which would link me in any way to these or any other arsons. The reality is that there is no other evidence and never will be.

The reality is the government is making a desperate attempt to try to stop and silence me because they see me as a threat. They see me as a threat because I have garnered widespread public support in stopping some of the destruction to sacred ancient forests. I am a threat to multinational corporations because I volunteer with peaceful organizations who cause a loss of profit through successfully cancelling logging sales. Perhaps the biggest threat I pose is that I speak the truth. I speak about the actions and agendas of the governments and corporations who have dedicated much energy and time to maintaining their power and control over the planet, its resources and the wealth of the world. I speak the truth that unravels the web of lies in which our governments and the multinational corporations have been trapping us our whole lives. This challenges their control, power and wealth and they don't like that. Well, I have news for you all: As long as I am breathing, whether I am incarcerated or not, I will continue to speak the truth! The powers that be can only surpress the truth for so long before it explodes into a shining beam of light which noone can deny is the path to health, love, happiness, justice, equality and peace for everyone and everything. We are creating peace on earth, one word one action and one day at a time. I will be vindicated, I will be free! Namaste Tre"

Mother's Day Message from Tre

May 17th, 2006

NOTE: I'm intentionally spelling "woman" and "women" with an "a" and an "e". I am spelling "humyn" with a "y" for very specific reasons as well. This may come as a surprise to some based on the way I have chosen to spell these words in the past. However, I will explain more soon as to the reason I am not spelling woman with a "y"... Thank you for your understanding.

A Blessed Mom's Day to all of you out there!! I'm doing well here at Wilkie. Spring has finally arrived and I've been blessed to have my feet on earth mother and my skin kissed by the healing loving rays of grandfather sun many times lately. I've been moved to a different unit which is a great improvement for me! I now have more time out of the cell, more access to the phone and more time outside to enjoy the natural elements. Yesterday, from the window of the cell i occupy i saw deer grazing on the grass only a few meters away from me! Today I saw two huge bald eagles circling nearby. I was astonished by the size of theses birds!! I've seen red tail hawk flying high in the blue sky. I can see a beautiful patch of evergreen trees housing wildlife and standing strong and resolute while they tower over this iron teepee where I live. The window stays open now constantly because I am finally warm enough even throughout the night without closing it. Fresh air and bird's voices wake me in the morning. I am grateful to hear their songs and celebrations of the upcoming sunrise.

I have been trying to get the beltane/mother's day message finished for two weeks now, but the restrictions on the phone have limited my availability to get the piece composed. I will be sending it out very soon. In the meantime, I would like to share these words with you: On this day honouring my mother and all mothers of the world I would like to acknowledge my deepest respect and appreciation to all of the beautiful women on this precious planet. I send my love and blessing to my birth mother, my grandmothers, my great grandmothers and all my ancestors throughout time. I send my love and blessing to all the mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers... of the world. I send my love and blessing to all those who are not mothers to humyns, but are mothers to the sacred plants and/or our precious animal friends. I send my love and blessing to all the girls who have not yet reached puberty, but play "mother" to their dolls, baby toys, playmates, animal friends, etc. I send my love and and blessing to all the women who do not have children of their own but share their gifts and love by caring for other family's children. And last but certainly not least, I send my love and blessing to our one and only sacred Earth mother; who is mother to us all (humyn and non-humyn animal and plant).

I also would like to extend a blessing and token of veneration to all the boys and men of the world. My thanks to my birth father and all the fathers who have contributed their seed (sperm) to join with the ovum and help bring about life. What a magical gift this life is...no man would exist without the sacred woman, and no woman would exist without the sacred man!

The circle of life demonstrating the yin and the yang, the feminine and the masculine, and the light and the dark. As the Great Mystery of this universe unfolds I'm grateful to be alive and witness to the beauty sprouting abundantly from the prolific darkness.

Our mother's are and will always be our mom's. Likewise, our Earth mother is and will always be our one and only precious home. Therefore, I wish you all a blessed birth mother's day and earth mother's day, today and every day!

Namaste,
Tre

A special word of utmost gratitude to my birth mother Melody. I honour you mom for the nine moons you carried me in your womb. I honour you for your strength and perseverence through the labour and birth which brought me into this world. I honour you for the nourishing milk from your breast which helped me grow healthy and strong. I honour you for your singing, guitar playing, gifts and kindness which have greatly enriched my life. I honour you for the unconditional love, generosity, and clemency you've bestowed upon me my whole life and continue to do so even through these challenging times. I know this incarceration affects you, mom and dad, deeply and I commend you for your strength and wish you peace, grace, and serenity so that you may accept things as they are. I humbly extend my deepest love to you both,
Namaste,
your son Tre (Michael James...because the two of you gave me this name at my birth I honour your choice to call me by this name.)

Earth Day Message from Tre

April 22nd, 2006

Hello to all you beautiful people. On this day of honouring our earth mother, I ask you to look at your birth. Upon emerging from our mother's womb, we are given a birth mother and a birth father. At the same time we are also given our earth mother and spirit father. I respect your freedom to honour your spirit father in whichever way feels best to you. Through all the generations of dispute, battlefields, bloodshed and persecution in the name of organized religion, one thing remains irrefutable: we only have one earth mother! We all share her. She is mother to us all.

I recently completed a 24 day hunger strike marking 2 years of incarceration. It was very intense and the most difficult fast I have ever undergone, even though it was not the longest. I am presently still going through a phase of healing, cleansing and detoxifying. In the absence of food through the course of the last moon cycle, it's become abundantly clear to me that there are two things we all can do to heal and honour our earth mother, ourselves, and every living thing. These two things are extremely simple, tangible and within everyone's ability, yet have profoundly beneficial global effects.

The first thing is this: spend as much time in nature as possible. Do you want to see how easy this is? I encourage you to stop what you're doing right now. Bend down, take of your socks and shoes and put your bear feet gently onto our earth mother. Do this now! Do this everyday! Do this as often as you can. Spend as much time outdoors, with the trees, wildlife and natural elements and you will begin to see how this will help you and our earth mother heal. One of the greatest tragedies of our time is that as a people we are disconnected from this planet. Disconnected by concrete, asphalt, rubber-equipped vehicles, rubber soled shoes and buildings made of concrete and steel. There is a saying that goes "a person's heart away from nature grows cold". The way to open our heart and let the healing to take place for ourselves and every living thing is to return to our earth mother.

The second thing is this: eat as much organic, raw plant food as possible. Raw fruits, veggies and seeds are nature's perfect food. These foods contain all the life force and nutrients we need to acquire perfect health. They are a divine gift from our grandfather sun, grandmother moon, earth mother and spirit father.

All diseases and degenerative ailments in this world are almost entirely associated with our diet. We are the only species which prepares our food with flame. Cooked food (especially dead animals and dairy) is addictive, denatured and linked to a myriad of health problems. Every year millions of humyns die needlessly from starvation and non-humyn animals are tortured and murdered for food. Those of us who are privileged enough to eat everyday have within our grasp the power to eliminate this suffering around the world through our conscious food choices. This simple act of deciding what to put into our mouths contributes to either the preservation or the destruction of us humyns, all plant life, our non-humyn animal friends, the air, soil, water, eco-systems, habitats, and forests throughout this precious planet.

Our earth doesn't just come around once a year like Santa claus or the Easter bunny. This is earth day. Everyday is earth day. She is here everyday. She doesn't go away. She gives us all we need continously and unconditionally. Planets are hard to come by. We can't just hop to another one after we've desecrated this one. Even if we could do so, that's no reason to ravage our only home. She deserves our love, honour and respect. We have a responsibility to care for her in a thoughtful, conscious way, the way we care for our birth mother.

Together we have the power to visualize, take action and manifest a healthy, peaceful world for you, for me, and for every living thing. Blessed earth day to you, today and everyday.

love, peace, and solidarity

Father’s Day and Summer Solstice

June 18th, 2005

A blessed father’s day to my father and all the fathers, grandfathers, great - grandfathers of the world … and a blessed summer solstice to all those in the northern hemisphere (and a blessed winter solstice to all those in the southern hemisphere). The days here are long and Grandfather Sun is high in the sky. I think it’s appropriate for Sunday to be honoring Father’s Day when on Tuesday we are closer to our Grandfather Sun than at any other time of the year.

Despite the brightness during this time of year, the darkness and oppression is growing. The powers that be will do anything and everything to maintain “control” over the illusion of their wealth and power. Their efforts to control the world’s resources cause colossal suffering for millions of beings, humyn and nonhumyn. However, the more that each of us takes a stand, seeks justice, and challenges the status quo the more that this light will overcome the darkness and oppression that plagues us.

Many brothers and sisters are preparing for the sun dance ceremony. I send my support and solidarity to all the natives of the world who continue the struggle to maintain their tradition and sovereignty amidst a corporate – dominated world. My heart goes out to all those suffering and may there be truly peace on Earth.

Namaste, Tre

A blessed Mom's day to everyone!

May 9th, 2005

A hello to all the Mom's of the world... Earth Mother, Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother... the light and dark, yin and yang, Goddess and God, yoni and lingam, female and male... the duality of the universe in all it's beauty and divine proportion.

What would we be without the womyn of the world? I am pondering the sacredness of all life and the power that lies within the females of the world. With the exception of the seahorse, womyn are the only ones who can hold life within their womb and give birth. I'm also pondering the misogyny that has oppressed girls and womyn for millennia. May we all take action to bring about love and respect towards every living being and create an egalitarian home for every female and male.

I remember a time when I was 8 years young at a summer camp. I had forgotten my lunch for the day and was distressed about going all day without anything to eat. At lunch time, much to my surprise and amazement, my mom appeared and reached out to me with love and generosity in her eyes. She had driven a long way from home to come back to the camp. In her hand she was holding the lunch that I had left behind. There are countless stories like this one that I hold near and dear to my heart which demonstrate the profound love and care that my mom has blessed me with all of the days of my life. I love you mom.

April 22 is Earth Day

April 22nd, 2005

I am grateful for this international day of recognition to honor our Earth Mother. This gives us an opportunity to ponder all that she does for us. She gives us all we need to survive and so much more. Not just pure air, water, soil, food and shelter, but endless beauty captured in sensational sunsets, majestic mountains and fragrant forests. The planet does not come around just once a year, like Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny. She is here everyday for us giving continually and unselfishly; therefore, everyday is earth day! For what would we be and we do without her? All the money in the world cannot provide the value and sacredness which flows unconditionally from this one and only earth. All she wants in return for all she gives is for us to sing to her... So let us sing, dance, rejoice, play, give, share, love, honor, cherish and respect. I'm envisioning a utopia. All we need to do is to visualize a world free of oppression, a world which honors the beauty, diversity and sanctity of all life and together we can create this utopia.

Planets are hard to come by. May I suggest these six R's: Landfills are not part of this equation. We can make it happen.

I would like to recommend a documentary film called 'Earth and the American Dream', and the book 'The Earth Speaks' by Steve Van Matre. These are amazing pieces of work.

A blessed earth day to you this day and everyday!

Namaste ~ Tre
