Information provided regarding conditions, growth and care, are based on my experience on my property in south-western British Columbia, Canada. The location is low-lying and wet with heavy clay soil. This strongly influences my practices and results.
All the plants are "hard-grown", ie grown outside and not pampered, . I do not try to bring them along early so that you can see the colour of July flowers in April.
The drought this summer, 2003, has been hard on most of the plants because I severely restricted watering. They should have recovered by late spring 2004.
