Service Rig

In the winter of 1964 / 65 I worked for Souris Well Service a company from Estevan, Saskatchewan. Here we are servicing an oil well west of Swift Current, Saskatchewan. This is a very small service rig since the wells in Southern Saskatchewan are very shallow - around 3,000 feet.

Here you will find photographs of the men, animals, landscape and equipment used in the search for oil.
