ABOUT Thomas Nerbas R.Ac, PFT


Thomas Nerbas completed the Mount Royal College Personal Fitness Trainer Program (700-hour program, including 100 practicum hours) in 2005.  He has also earned a nationally recognized Certified Fitness Consultant (CFC) certification from the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology and certification in Standard First Aid/ CPR level C.  Since 2005, Thomas has been employed by several professional gyms including: Calgary City's YWCA - Fitness on 5th (August 2005 – Aug 2006 ) and Calgary City's Heaven's Fitness (August 2006 - Sept 2010).Thomas strives to be an educator, motivator and counsellor promoting healthy lifestyle and well being.  

Tom lives a very active lifestyle in which he incorporates the foundation of holistic life principles. He appreciates the bigger picture of human beings as dynamic energy systems of body, mind and spirit. The intangible things such as emotion, consciousness, and the animating life force energy of the spirit empower the physical body. It is his observation that the perfect synthesis of body, mind and spirit create the attainment of well being. Personal fitness training provides an essential role in the maintenance of the physical body which is ultimately connected to the greater whole. 

To provide his clientele with the best fitness experience, it is essential to stay on top of current issues in order to gain the highest standards in education, training and professional developments. Thomas has true passion and dedication for holistic physical fitness and would like to share all the benefits of active living and lifestyle with you.  He's adamant in educating you to attain your goals.  Strengthen and reshape your body, increase your energy, improve quality sleep, manage stress, increase strength of tendons and ligaments, increase self-efficacy and psychological well being, to name a few. Thomas has also completed a three year doctorate in acupuncture in 2009 from the Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Traditional Chinese Medicine promotes total life balance resulting in virtues of: benevolence, justness, propriety, compassion, integrity/ reciprocity, righteousness, acknowledgment, wisdom and bravery. Thomas employs acupuncture, traditional Chinese herbal medicine, diet therapy, Qigong and other therapies that complement our present day medical society.
