new "Available CDs" List - Aug. 16/03
New: A few new CDs, and a few corrections to stuff that was already
there.
To find the CD that you want, load the "Available CDs" list and either
check at the company websites (to match title to CD cover), or run a
"Find" in your browser while the list is visible to see if what you
want has been added.
Order 021 is now CLOSED!
Order 022 will open after the holidays!
Nov.
8/02 - Wow, slow sales...
Greetings, eh? Sales have been very slow, which isn't surprising when
you consider...
1) I had to move to a new server from the anime-alberta.org server.
Plus, every time I ask for a link from the old server to here, it never
seems to stick around for long
2) I had shut down for some time, meaning that it was hard to get the
momentum going again. Therefore, I'm doing an open-ended order because
I can't order anything under 100 CDs from my wholesaler.
3) File-sharing programs are making it harder for me to sell these CDs.
Makes sense, but it's a peculiar irony. ^)_(^
Happy, happy, joy, though - Sailor Moon Brass Fantasy has been
re-released! This is a wonderufl CD that many people have been after
for quite some time. I may make an update on the List mentioning this,
just to see if CD orders go up.
If you're new here, please keep in mind that I don't really advertise.
I tried it twice and it almost got me in some serious trouble. I may
try again, or I may not. If you've made it this far, congrats! Be sure
to refer me to some of your friends. You can all get together and do a
group order if you like.
And if anyone can tell me how to fix the layout of the graphics on this
page, I'd really appreciate it. I've been playing around with it and I
can't seem to get it to display properly.
In the meantime, if you have any questions, please e-mail me. I'll be
glad to help you as much as I can. ^)_(^
[lots of updates missing - I deleted a
bunch of stuff that wasn't overly important in my mind]
Oct. 31/01 - Here's an interesting
note...
Greetings, eh? I've just recently been inspired by Acts of Gord.
Oct. 25/01 - Please read all - Customs
Surcharge is back.
Greetings, eh? If you're viewing this page in Mozilla, it probably
looks a little messed up. I know. It looks fine in Konqueror, though,
and I can't get it to view right in Mozilla. Some sort of table issue,
I'm sure.
Anyway, to Shoppe business:
CDs are still $8.00 US each. No changes there, except I am reinstituting the Customs Surcharge of $1.00 US
each. This will effectively make the CDs $9.00 US each.
Son May has changed their numbering
scheme, so if you're trying to find their new CDs, scroll down
the Available CDs list until you get past the SS and FF sections. There
you will find SMA, SMG, and SMD.
SMD = Son May Musical DVD -
that's right, Son May now offers Video DVDs on concert and musical
performances. I doubt they'll do any episodes or movies, though. Note the price - $10.00 US each.
Here's a quandary: Customs people are nice. Customs itself
sucks. -_-
I'm thinking of holding variable-length orders. The way it
would work is that once 100 CDs make it on the collective order, I
would send that order off, then roll the next ones onto another order.
If we don't meet 100 once the deadline passes, then I pack those up and
move on. I may try this for Order 017, because if I collect 100 in one
month, I may be able to have those shipped to you by Xmas. I'm not
promising anything, though. If you want to try and get CDs by Xmas, and
you were going to order anyway, get your order in as soon as you can.
Legality of Taiwanese CDs - from what my (non-Taiwanese)
wholesaler tells me, SM/EA/Ho-Son CDs are officially licensed by the
companies for print in Taiwan. Meaning they aren't illegal. However,
exporting them to another country may be illegal. However again, due to
WTO and TRIPs (and a section known as "parallel importing"), this may
be legal after all. IANAL, so I'm going to keep looking into this until
I get it figured out.
For those contest winners who I
need to give CDs to, I should be able to do it for Order 017. I will
contact you towards the end of the order and let you know. Sorry for
the continued delay.
