This CD is actually the soundtrack for the Sailor Moon S Movie and this was the main reason I bought it! The first item of interest on this CD is the exquisite front cover featuring all the Sailor Senshi & Luna in human form. The insert book on the other hand is a disappointment, runs for 12 pages and containing only a few B&W shots from the movie. Before I go into more detail about the tracks I should say at this point that this is mainly a BGM album & contains only 2 full Vocals, so with that in mind onto the album.
  1. Jaaku (Malicious)[2:14] - With a name like 'Malicious' you would expect something rather menacing and that is exactly what you get with this BGM track. Very well done, a large dose of violins keep the aura of menace & impending doom to the forefront of this track.
  2. Luna [3:34] - An eminently pleasant track in five separate parts which easily brings to mind Luna ^_^ The xylophone/piano mixture with a touch of violin makes this a very easy track to relax to.
  3. Shou [3:34] - A very powerful mixture of piano & violin come together to make a truly enchanting melody. I felt myself really drawn to the spirit of the tune with an intensity that surprised even myself.
  4. Usagi [2:50] - I expected this to bit a rather ditzy piece of BGM music but was definitely mistaken. This is split again into separate contrasting parts, ranging from fun bubbly tunes to an almost serene elegance, an interesting track.
  5. Munasawagi (Apprehension)[3:43] - It is really amazing how some music instantly gives you a certain feeling, and this track easily lives up to it's name. Not a track to relax to and definitely not for those of a nervous disposition!!!!
  6. Snow Dancer Shuurai (Invasion of the Snow Dancers) [6:08] - Another excellent piece of music, you can really feel the menace of the snow dancers. As the track progress' you can perceive the tension in the air.
  7. Henshin [1:54] - Probably the must fun track on the CD containing the music & vocal parts when each of the Sailor Senshi transforms.
  8. Sentou (Into Battle)[3:22] - Fighting Sailor Senshi music makes up this piece and turn it into a fast paced and upbeat track.
  9. Ai to Yuujou no Chikara [2:44] - This track slowly builds to a crescendo and comes from the penultimate part of the movie as Usagi throws everything she has into defeating the evil snow queen. A masterful piece of music.
  10. Ai no Message [3:32] - A longer version of the Luna track, definitely much appreciated by myself!! Sweeping music carries you right into Luna's heart.....not to be missed.
  11. Moonlight Destiny [5:59] - The first vocal track. the ending song for the movie and my favourite Sailor Moon Vocal ever!!!. A very gentle song performed with deep emotion, rounded off with a touch of bitter sweet longing to put a little twist in your heart.
  12. Sailor Team no Theme [3:55] - The second vocal is put into the shade by the previous track and is nowhere up to the same standard. However saying that it is a good upbeat song and is likeable enough.
In closing, I have to say that this is a very professionally put together album and contains some of the best BGM I have heard in a very long time. If you are a Sailor Moon fan you could do a lot worse than this album.

Beej's note:  Sorry, but I couldn't let it slide.  I happen to love Sailor Team no Theme - just don't try to listen to it while you are trying to relax.  ^_^  And he's right - listening to Moonlight Destiny before Sailor Team no Theme would tend to throw a shadow over it.  But not up to the same standard?  I disagree!
