This area is frequented by some for short periods. It's actually private land consisting of an abandoned motel, marina and what could have been a night club of some sort. It's situated right on the shore of the Salton Sea. I wouldn't normally mention this type of area but thought it might warrant a few lines as numerous people have used it over the past few years.

To get there follow directions to Slab City from the south to Niland. Proceed another 59.5 km (37 mi.) north on State Highway 111 to the community of North Shore. Turn left on either Desert View Drive or Marina Drive to Seaview Drive. People park either on the shoulder above the marina on the water side of Seaview Dive or on the compacted sand below near the marina. To approach it from the north it would be approx. 30.5 km (19 mi.) south of I-10 on State 111 from Indio.
