What about the Stinchcombes in Australia? I have located a Stinchcombe who was transported to Australia in the nineteenth century for committing a minor theft. He hailed from Winterbourne, Wiltshire.

Another Australian line is descended from Samual Stinchcombe who arrived in Australia in 1862. Samual is the son of William Stinchcombe and Matilda Hart ( b. born in Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire, England.) William, the father, was the son of Anne Stinchcombe (b. Wapley 1800). William and Matilda lived in the Chipping Sodbury and Old Sodbury areas. Samual worked with his uncle Richard Hart when he arrived in Australia. He subsequently changed his name to Samual Hart.

Maybe our Australian cousins can provide information on other Stinchcombe lines Downunder. I am also aware some Stinchcombes settled in Australia after spending some time in Canada.
