Much of the following information has come to me via letters, etc, received from relatives:

a Stinchcombe landed in New Brunswick in 1843. This person returned to Liverpool, England.

LINE A

(The following notes relating to William and Elizabeth Stinchcomb was revised following the submission by their great-granddaughter.)

William, the father, came to Canada in 1912 with sons Henry, Arthur and William. Henry was killed in the First World War and his name is recorded in the previously mentioned Commonwealth Graves Commission site. Henry ( age 30) died at Ypres, now leper, in Belgium on Tues, 6 June, 1916. Henry was a member of the Saskatchewan Regiment and served with the 28 th bn of the Canadian Infantry. William served in the war, too, but in the British army. Elizabeth, the mother, and two daughters, came to Canada in 1914 (Much to William's surprise). There had been another daughter, Annie, who died at age four years in Liverpool, England.

LINE B

Fanny Stinchcombe married Tom Browning and settled near Calgary at the turn of the century.

A brother to Fanny, George came to Canada and lived in Brantford, Ontario., in the 1920,s -1930's. He moved on to Los Angeles.

LINE C

Ben Smith records the following:

Ted Stinchcombe (wife Ruth) emigrated to Canada before 1900. His photo is held in the marriage photo of c1893 and from this one would assume he was born before 1873. Ted became the administrator of the mental hopital at New Westminster, Cuthbert Stinchcombe came to Canada about 1911 but quickly moved to Seattle. Cuthbert's father could have been George Stinchcombe.

LINE D

Haydn R. Stinchcombe emigrated to Canada in 1957. He married his wife Susan in Princeton, BC, and they had four children. Peter Stinchcombe emigrated to Canada with his wife Barbara in 1973. Peter and Barbara had three children. Both Haydn and Peter are descended from the Cromhall line and both trace their descent to Robert Rymer Stinchcombe (b. 1839).

Can You Identify these Two Stinchcombes ?

. The adult is marked "Uncle Bert Stinchcombe" on the reverse and the youngster is marked "Rome Trevor Stinchcombe". Can you identify them ? It looks as if they may have been photographed in Ontario. These two photographs were given to me by a person in Mill Hill, Victoria. They are yours if you can identify them!
