EATING
TOGETHER Part of the WCPHA’s benefits are the social interaction. Several
members meet before each meeting at the restaurant adjacent to our meeting
room for dinner. Show up any time from 6 pm to 6:30pm and join the member’s
table(s) — you can’t miss us as there will be cameras on the table or camera
bags on the floor. The Alpen Club offers classic German
cooking — schnitzels, bratwurst,
sauerkraut, et.al. There are three specials every day where two courses cost
around $10, a drink (draft beer $4-5), tax and tip will give you change from
$20. There are only a limited number of specials and when these are gone you
have to eat from the regular menu, which adds around $10 to the cost. Even if you are there earlier we prefer that members do not start the buy and sell session before the scheduled 7:30 pm so that everyone gets a near-equal chance at the sale items. WEEKLY
BREAKFAST MEETING There is an informal Friday Morning get-together at Cafe
Zen, 1631 Yew Street, Vancouver where shooters and camera-lovers meet
for breakfast between 9-11 am. Everybody is welcome! If you want more
information please e-mail Tom Abrahamsson OUTING A group lunch is usually
planned as part of the vintage camera outing each
summer. CHRISTMAS
DINNER
The December meeting is our Christmas Dinner. The Alpen Club decorates our
room as a private dining room and members pre-select from three menu items at
normal menu prices. The typical total cost is $30. There is no buy and sell
or regular meeting at this event. NEW
YEAR’S DINNER The January meeting is our New Year’s dinner and is less formal,
eating from the menu at a long table in the restaurant followed by an
informal meeting with Buy and Sell and Show and Tell but no presentation. MEMBERSHIP WESTERN CANADA PHOTOGRAPHIC HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION, BOX 78082, 1755 EAST BROADWAY, VANCOUVER BC V5N 1W0 |
