Pollution, over fishing & land development all play a role in the shortage of salmon for First Nations, Commercial & Sports Fisherman. A loss of way of life and food source makes me wonder what other little beings have disappeared but we just didn't notice (Yet what can be done? one may ask meekly)
A vision of salmon teaming in "Time Whorls" being saved for later release at a perfect time~makes one hope (forever being unrealistic

OR maybe the salmon are being "nicked" by their natural predators before they even reach the mouth of the Fraser River. These hungry predators even know where those fish are lounging around in those " Time Whorls".

As Coldwater Road winds thru the valley thru the Coldwater Reserve be careful when going around the bends. A herd of horses notorious for escaping their fence lines always seem to be standing just around the next bend or in the middle of an intersection. When they aren't doing that they are raiding the rez gardens and lawns. The leader is brightly painted while the followers are more subdued.

This painting was inspired by a rock that we found on the Coldwater Reserve. I showed it to Bill and asked him if he could see the red horse walking in the rock. He could and he asked me if I could see the teepees that were behind the horse.

Another rock inspired painting. This one although very dark, this drummer was there, stepping forward with her long feathered robe and flowing hair. The background of the rock with its many layers, gave a floating feeling to this weighty substance.

Being another rock inspired painting where one has to turn the rock around with the moon being at the center top. The drummers and dancer are placed on each side of the rock, meeting in one continuous circle. These rocks are found in the Coldwater River.

The Creator spread out a blanket. On this blanket he put everything that living including humans. For them he included sources of food, shelter and clothing.
This multi-media piece has frayed cotton denim, rice paper and rice kernels layered with acrylic paints and oil paints.

Two musicians are practicing by the light of a full moon. I imagine that the flute player is hoping to one night like this night to play for his future partner. Keeping him company and in tune is his best friend.
This was also inspired from a rock painting.
