Is your organization, school, or community group looking to improve its awareness and understanding of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)? The Lakeland Centre for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder is leading the way in providing training and professional development to anyone interested in learning more about the prevention and intervention of FASD. Presentations have been made regionally, provincially, nationally, and internationally to a number of different groups on various topics related to FASD. The Centre will develop a presentation to meet the needs of your group. It can range from a ½ hour basic introduction to 2 days intensive training depending on what topics your group is interested in having addressed. Some of the topic areas that could be addressed are prevention strategies, FASD 101, diagnostic process, benefits of diagnosis, parent or teaching strategies, and best practice strategies to mention a few. There is a fee schedule in place for the training offered by the Centre to cover the cost of the session, mileage and other expenses incurred in providing the training are additional. We recognize that some organizations may have limited resources and therefore are open to negotiating these fees because our primary commitment is to ensuring that everyone interested in receiving the information to prevent or better support those affected by FASD has access.
