1962 Memories

My Dad coming home after talking to my uncle Mike Wyrostok and Jake Milford and asking me if I could get enough players interested in forming a Junior fastball team.

I recruited all my friends from North Lethbridge....thus the name the "North Stars".

Practices and more practices without games. I think we only played about 10 games the first year, all on school diamonds.

Ken Matisz hitting a grand slam home run in the first game of the  provincials in Calgary.

We played at the Bridgeland Community diamonds and I can still see Larry Tomie almost having a heart attack chasing a ball up the hill towards the now demolished General Hospital.

The green hats with the yellow stars.
